Origami paper stars, often called "lucky stars" or "origami wishing stars," are a fun and simple origami project that involves folding strips of paper into small, puffy stars. Here's a basic step-by-step guide on how to make them:
Materials:
Strips of paper (about 1cm wide and 25-30cm long). You can cut these from regular origami paper or use any lightweight paper.
Instructions:
1. Tie a Knot at the End of the Paper Strip:
Take one end of the paper strip and loop it around, creating a loose knot.
Gently pull the knot tight, making sure the paper forms a pentagon shape.
2. Flatten the Pentagon:
Flatten the knot so it forms a pentagon with one short tail and one long tail of the paper strip.
3. Tuck the Short End:
Fold the short tail into the pentagon, tucking it neatly so it doesn't stick out.
4. Wrap the Long Tail:
Begin folding the long tail around the pentagon, following its natural edges. Keep wrapping until you reach the end of the paper strip.
5. Tuck the End:
When you run out of the paper strip, tuck the end into one of the folds.
6. Puff the Star:
To make the star puffy, use your fingers or nails to gently press in the edges of the pentagon. Pinch each corner to give the star its 3D shape.
You can make several stars in different colors, and they can be used for decoration, gifts, or even as little charms!
