So good to see you again. I heard about Nettle tea fertilizer before and managed to make one bucket this Summer. O boy, this stuff is really "potent". Just today I watered salad greens with the solution and it SMELLS. So, yes, the stuff is good but smelly.

Thank you! I live in Trinidad, and nettles grow really well here. I knew they were good for hay fever (if drunk daily for 6 weeks before hay fever season) but I didn’t know they were good for arthritis or fertilizer. 🌱

I would humbly recommend that you daily stirr in some oxygen to prevent anaerobic fermentation bacteria from producing too much stench. By making the nettle tea the stirring way, the smell will be by far more pleasant than the airtight varity.

And I wish to add from my last comment. For a last few months I've been drinking GREEN TEA, WITH ONE HOLE LEMON ON TO A JUICER INTO A MUG WITH TWO SPOON FULL OF HONEY, WITH ONE GREEN TEA BAG, THEN INTO A MIROWAVE FOR 1MIN; 30S, USEING MIROWAVE I SAVE £10 A MONTH ON MY ELECTRIC BILL..... SO TWO CUPS IN THE MORNING. OVER THE TWO MONTHS I'VE HAVE LOST 3" FROM MY FAT BELLY.

Lemons are natures antibiotic. What your doing is spot on! I do closely the same but no warming or honey. I put green tea, lemon, one whole peeled, 1/2 cup blueberries, kale, and one very small banana with ground flax every day. I make my green tea in a very large mason then keep in frig all week.

You can make it dry by picking early in the morning with a bit of dew on it. You put a rock on it and the resulting juice is a concentrate and needs to be diluted. You can also ferment it and it’s not smelly!!! 🙏

I'm going to make some though I'll be putting all the nettles in a tied cloth bag, weighted down (with maybe a brick) for a few days to make sure it's totally sodden. Also wonder if some brewers yeast would add anything? 'L' plates to the end. :)

I've seen a lot of stuff about making fertilizer from comfrey and nettles but is there a reason that other green plants can't be used? Why are these two plants preferred? Where I live I've only seen a few nettles and I'm not sure if there's comfrey so I'm wondering what other plants might work. thanks :)

FERMENTED IS BETTER AND IT DONT STING. IT ONLY TAKES 2 WEELS TO FERMENT WITH CHEESE CLOTH ON TOP IN A BUCKET GET STINGING NETTLE AND COMBINE WITH BROWN SUGAR ( or regular) mix well) cover with cheese cloth and fermented for 2 weeks in a dry dark place The ratio is 500 parts water to 1 cup nettle juice Good for preloading seeds Usage Around 6 am when the des ix still on the leaves spray with the juice and apply to the root. A little goes a long way. Good day to yiu and happy unstinkie gardening
