I have looked, but unable to find bbq bread here in Texas metroplex... looks yummy! I just wanted to say, I have grown up on a farm, but UNFORTUNATELY, my son was not. Your son Isaac seems so very helpful to you and Bryant. This is a true country boy doing country things. His dreams may not be going down that path, but he will never be sorry or regret being country. God bless...

You just answered a question my husband and I had this past weekend. We were up in north Georgia this past weekend and everyone had cut their hay. My husband said he thought you cut hay in the Fall. I said maybe it’s both times. And it is! Also, I have a gas stove top and I drain my grease the same way you do when there isn’t much. I didn’t know anyone else did that!😂. Haven’t caught it on fire yet!

That’s the way I have always done my sauce, saves time and I also add chopped mushrooms, diced celery and diced peppers to the meat once it’s almost cooked with the meat then add I add my sauce, and I too alway add a bit of sugar, about a tbsp for a large pot. Hey anything to make for an delicious and easy meal is good in my book is OK. BTW, I love your videos. When you apologized for having you Cabinet door opened, I had to laugh...OMG I always have mine opened too and my drawers, my husband just laughs at me. He says I can tell who was in the kitchen last,😂😂😂

Leslie, my Italian mother-in-law taught me to put Parmesan in my spaghetti sauce and my meatballs. She also served Parmesan on the table for additional pleasure. You are absolutely on the right track but I would do the same thing with a can of diced tomatoes and it only has to cook about 30 minutes to be pretty tasty with the exact recipe that you’re using if you don’t have jarred sauce or you prefer not to use jarred sauce.Keep on cooking my friend.

I also add the sauce to the pot of spaghetti before serving but saving some so people can add if they want . My dad never liked spaghetti but he loved mine.

Girl you got it going on that sugar definitely makes a difference in adding in your spaghetti sauce I'm telling you us southern girl's at Doctoring up a jar of spaghetti sauce or anything that's not actually homemade is the best thing ever to make something that you didn't do from scratch tastes delicious 😋

We had "doctored" jarred sauce over spaghetti this evening. We begin with sauteed onions and Italian sausage. After pouring in the sauce, we add the kitchen trinity (garlic powder, onion powder and Italian seasonings) and sugar, very, very carefully. We don't want sweet, but we want to get rid of the acidity and give it some delish. Our secret weapon is sliced stuffed green olives. We LOVE these in our sauce.

I always use store bought spaghetti sauce when making spaghetti, lasagna, and Spanish rice. I also use it when making zucchini lasagna as well. I add a half pack of Mrs. Wages Chili Sauce mix to my Spaghetti sauce. I use a small amount of lite brown sugar in my sauce, I also add shredded cheddar, or shredded taco or Mexican cheese to my sauce. I put shredded cheese at times on my garlic toast. I also make when the tomatoes are ripe in the garden what my Aunt calls a white garlic toast. I get a loaf of French bread cut it in half place the half bread loaf on a sheet of aluminum foil on a cookie sheet pour bottled zesty Italian salad dressing over the half French bread pieces top the salad dressing with sliced tomatoes, sprinkled shredded cheese over the tomatoes, put pepperoni slices over top the cheese put aluminum foil covering over top of it place in 350 oven about 15 minutes to melt the cheese well then after heated cut the French bread half's in serving pieces place on a serving plate. It makes a delicious side with spaghetti or lasagna. It is alittle messy handling with the salad dressing but, delicious that way.

For hamburger grease...I use old coffee cans for the grease and chuck them when full. But to drain meat.. I set my colliandor on top of the can, dump the meat in the strainer and just let gravity do the work. Then take the strainer and dump the meat back in the pan. I use the same strainer for draining the spaghetti.

I make my spaghetti sauce just like you are making yours. I just add a lot more Italian seasonings and Granulated Garlic. Sometimes if I have it I add pesto from Costco, and or chopped Sun Dried tomatoes, and chopped bellpeppers. Then if my grandkids want light spaghetti sauce I add cream cheese. My grandma and I used to make it from scratch for years until she or I could eat our own scratch one because too much acid. So we started using DelMonte spaghetti sauce with all the extras just like you do. With lots of cheese in a casserole dish.

I learned to make sketty sauce when I got married at 18 as my momma did not make good sauce, it and fried chicken, great northern beans with ham hock were my main .dishes along with Mac and cheese we can't forget my biscuits. My husband was in the Navy and I only had about 30.00 for groceries every two weeks. We were so poor no TV just a make shift stereo. And I had to have an ironing board and iron to keep his uniforms up. My point was he gained from around 168 to 203 pounds during our first year of marriage, and now 44 years later he is only 146 pounds and I weigh about 203....lol

Isn't funny how little ones end up with spaghetti in their diapers and everywhere.

I just doctored up my own! I never add sugar though and I don't think I ever needed it. You never showed the cabinets!

Really you haven't tried it. Sugar cuts the acidity and helps with heartburn

I told my wife I was making a bicycle out of spaghetti. She didn't believe me... Until I rode pasta.

It's easier to have the jar of spaghetti sauce than to have tomato sauces and paste all over. I add the meat and veggies as well. Whatever I have. I think this counts as homemade.

Use grape jelly instead of sugar and it takes it to a different "level" of deliciousness!!!

Patti L, I hear ya. I use blueberry pomagranite juice to deglaze my pan then do the sauce in the pan. To get that last bit of sauce out the jar, I use a wee bit of V8.
