How to make string art wall decor

I have used foam boards and push pins for this project. It is very light weight and easy to hang. You may use wood and nails too. Actual time to make this was about 3 hours and 30 mins. Marking takes about 45 mins, inserting pins takes about 30 mins and weaving takes about 1 hour and 30 mins. Thank you so much for watching :)

I enjoyed this sort of craft work at school. Certainly learn a lot and a great way to use the imagination in shapes, styles and patience. I am retired now, and it is a good way to relearn some skills and recycle products rather than going to waste in landfill.

This is genius! I did this back in the 60's, but it was with nails, a hammer & a piece of wood .... this is so much easier. I've recently thought about doing this, but didn't want to go through the hammering - now I don't have to. Thank you !

I remember doing this back in the day at school when i was like 14 and it was a piece of wood and hammering on all the nails in it. It was a pain in the ass but it looked just so beautiful! By the way there're a couple things that are so so with this...a) you don't need a protractor at all to divide a circle in six as just using the radius you used to trace it, you can use it to mark six equal places along the circumference. And also, doubt the precission of using a straight tape over the curved line of the circle. It's way better to take the measurement on the compass and do it with it.

Beautiful. FYI(and you may already know this); if you keep your compass set at 20cm and start at any point on the circle and keep moving it the previous point, it will divide the circle into a perfect 6 divisions(hexagon).

Nice video. But just a sugestion, to divide the circle in six sections, you can use the compass with an opening equal to the radius of the circle. Starting at a point and marking the next using the opening of the compass. It will give you six points at same distance from one to another.

Hi, I dont understand! I made de circle with a ratio of 20cm (40 diameter) but I cant get the 30 points of 7mm. I get 29 on the sides and 27 on the ratio inside lines... I had everything ready and now I cannot keep going cause Im afraid it wont work... : ( I double triple checked, what am I doing wrong? Any suggestions??
