Your video on studying for 1 year changed my life. Now, the idea that a learning plan can nurture natural interest is inspiring to me! As a freshman in college, I would find nothing more useful than a video on a video on what that looks like (whether that be directly applied to AI+swe, math, deep learning, etc. or instead, abstract advice). After all, it is the most controllable and arguably high-leverage area of these 4 pillars! Edit: to be clear, I am asking if you can make a video on learning plans. Thank you for the great work!

@@v1Accevt thank you, awesome to hear that the video was inspiring! That's an excellent idea, making a video on how to make a learning plan - adding it near the top of the list of videos I want to make

@jeffrey_codes one follow up request I have is that the learning plan be geared towards building projects; after all, that was the biggest takeaway from the studying for 1 year video. thank you!

Amazing video. One thing that I think is that 'natural interest' is a bit more malleable than suggested here. 1. I think mindset can do a surprising amount of work in changing this. I genuinely think that you can gaslight yourself into liking anything more. 2. "Natural Interest" has a RELATIVE component. If you are addicted to TikTok and pornography and gambling and videogames, then everything else will seem boring by comparison (just because these are activities that are engineered to be highly rewarding). By structurally eliminating or making these activities less appealing, we can increase the relative appeal of activities like studying. Since deleting all social media from my phone, I have found my "natural interest" in studying has grown tremendously. Because now if I want to check Instagram, I have to go to my computer and sit in one spot. That little bit of friction has made scrolling on social media less appealing, relative to studying.

Amazing points! How far do you think someone can change their natural interest? I do still think there's a natural component, but you're right that you can definitely make yourself like something *more* than before

How can we come out of the tiredness after 12 hrs of work including commuting and convince ourself to study for a another 2 hrs. I struggle this with it a lot. Everyday i think of studying after the work and when it actually comes to studying after the work i don't feel like to study because of the tiredness and the last thing i want to do is study. How do i come out of the situation? Typically my day goes like wake up at 6:30am catch the bus at 7:40 am, Reaching the office at 8:00am,work ends at 6:00pm and reaching home at 7:10 pm. After this there is motivation to study but the tiredness is high i couldn't able to focus in the studying part efficiently.

study in the morning, work less, maximize weekends

You gotta prioritise you. Wake up early and do your own thing first, then get tired on someone else's hours.

I agree with the other responses - the best thing would be to study in the morning while you're fresh If that doesn't work, you could try staying at a coffee shop after work (drink tea so you don't wreck your sleep schedule) and study there before you reach the couch. That can have the added benefit of cutting time off your commute, since it's 20 minutes in the morning but 70 minutes during rush hour

@@jeffrey_codes no, i meant to ask that, what should I do to tackle me playing games and escaping from my studies ? I want to study but, end up daydreaming, sleepy and bored. help me with this one, please.
@jeffrey_codes3 күн бұрын
@@konsa_rohan ah, apologies for assuming a different question There are lots of tricks you can try depending on your situation. My personal favorite is to change my setting - for me, it's a coffee shop. Once I'm there and sipping coffee (or tea for me right now), my brain associates it with studying and work, and it enters that mode. It's also very embarrassing to play videogames or scroll social media in a coffee shop! You could also reward yourself with a short round of valorant after a certain number of pages/problems completed. You just have to hold yourself to that deal But the best thing is to have something that doesn't require lots of self discipline to study. Are you in control of what you're studying?
