This turned out so beautifully. I wish I knew how to use a sewing machine. I learned as a child in 4H, but somewhere along the way I forgot how the machine worked. I can sew by hand though. This is one of my dreams to make either a top or a sundress like this. Thank you for walking through it the way you did. I think I can do it.

If I did this with normal fabric would I need to hem it- how come when you are cutting the bandanas it doesn’t fray... any advice would be hugely appreciated thank you !

yes you need to hem on the bottom. But side seam will be cut by 45 angle of the fabric which is not easy to fray.
