Clark Kent isn't Superman's secret identity, Clark Kent IS Superman

Amen to that. Never liked the idea that Clark Kent was a nerdy mask Superman used as a disguise. Superman IS a nerdy, genuinely nice, farm boy who also happens to be a hero.

"Thanks! My mom made it for me" is one of the most superman lines ever, and that alone sold me as this being the best live superman. And the theme for the show gives me chills

Right?? We love to see an unashamedly friendly Supes!

While I feel like this video covers a lot of very well-trodden ground (see OSP, nerdwriter, implicitly pretentious, etc), this was so well-written, narrated, and edited that it stands on its own as a testament to its material. You've earned yourself a new sunbscriber, and I expect I'm very lucky to get here this early.

Very engaging story telling. Having not read or watched all the superman comics and shows/movies mentioned in the video, I was nonetheless very impressed by your thoughtful analysis of what makes this character interesting and relatable. Definitely earned a subscriber and I look forward to more content!

I will say this I think Smallville was the best Adaptation of Superman as a Young adult growing into his Superman Persona and Superman and Lois is the best Version of Middle age adult Superman going through the Trials of Being an Mature adult..

Exactly! I love Smallville so much dude I watched all 10 seasons of that show growing up and it still has a hold on me to this day.

This is a really good video. I like your perspective but I don't agree. I don't think a character needs to be flawed to be interesting. If you haven't seen it, watch Ip Man. It's a story about a man who is unstoppable and perfectly kind and humble and I love it. He is effectively perfect and still very interesting to me. I don't like the idea that a character needs flaws to be interesting since there are plenty of examples.

Good point! I guess its a different for different characters depending on what they're about! I feel like Superman in particular benefits more from the introduction of flaws than the removal of them. I've actually never seen Ip man, but it sounds like its one I need to check out!

He didn't reverse the earth's rotation with his speed to reverse time, Superman flew so fast that he travelled back in time.

Ohhhh ok that makes sense. Kind of akin to The Flash's time travel abilities? Either way definitely still a big step up from outrunning trains!
