I just found a super simple way to get rid of the white background and thought I'd share it. Go to layers and just delete the white background layer. Hope that helps! Thanks for your video. It's the best one I've found for converting to SVGs - thank you!

OMG, thank you sooooooooooo much for the very detailed explanation and showing step by step how you did this, I make svg's in inkscape and I just recently purchased Adobe to use on my computer and Ipad Pro and when I tell you I have had thee hardest time finding youtube videos that show and explain how to do something as simple as converting an image from start to finish, lawd I was about to give up, I am so thankful to had found your video, I subscribed and I am about to go check your other videos now and learn more, again, thank you for the awesome video, have a blessed day

I don’t know if anyone told you, but before you trace image you can select ignore white to avoid the white square background. I didn’t hear you say it.

Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge I am new to AI. I have a Cricut Maker 3 and wanted to learn how to make my own SVG cut files. I am also a leather worker and want to learn how to import PDF files into design space so I can have my machine cut the leather for me so it's nice and uniform and clean cut. It will save me time.

You can use guides or when copying drag it to the side with the shift+ option so that it’s on the same line.

So the black layer silhouette is so you get a black border around the image? Have you tried copying the shape and making it bigger by 1 or several pixels offset outward so that it does that?

I see many vids like this and i find the title misleading. This is not layered, this is stacked. Layered means using layers. This is just changing the stacking order.
