This may well be your first look at the new Westcliff Works model of Midlander from the Talyllyn Railway. This video will show the process of painting and lining the model, with lots of little tips on how I do it along the way.
Cheers.

I think I'd use the sharp end of a cocktail stick for more uniform paint dots on your lining. Also I've watched nearly all your videos, and seeing that black paint go on is no less terrifying now than it was the first time I saw you do it, can't argue with the results though.

Lovely job on this! You absolutely captured midlander's colors very well here! I saw one of the prototypes of this model my friend TomTeeLegend had back in March at a train show we do together. While I love classic midlander, I honestly kinda want to model fatlander more. I've been binging your videos recently and I've had such the urge to model the TR that I bought the fourdees Edward Thomas kit last week lol.

Your clips are always a highlight of any day George. That lining ..... Wow!! When I saw Midlander for the first time (over 50 years ago ..... God, I'm old!!) It looked so much smaller than I expected and your model catches the titchiness very well. Very impressive lining technique there. Cant wait to see this little beauty with plates affixed. Any plans for Alf? If so, any for spare set of frames -dumped- carefully stored in lineside undergrowth?

Lovely job. I do wonder if you should do the glazing after the black wash though as the black paint residue on the windows isn’t the best, I noticed that on the carrs particularly. But it’s a minor thing. And was all the faff with the airbrush worth it to spray the buffer beams red? I’d have brushed them. Lining is proper gorge. ❤
@GWilliamsonModels
@GWilliamsonModels 9 ай бұрын
Yes Tbf I agree with the glazing, though after the videos I do go back and wash them, but I’ll try and do it post wash next time. But regarding the buffer beams, I didn’t use the airbrush for them, both primer and Humbrol 220 are in rattle cans

What is your opinion on using water slide transfers before a clear coat compared to before AND after a clear coat?
@GWilliamsonModels
@GWilliamsonModels 9 ай бұрын
It depends on what type of paint is used, you need something that the transfers will key on to. And they’ll always need a varnish to seal them in after. So as I use acrylics, the transfers don’t stick brilliantly, so it would help to give it a clear coat first, but then a second after to seal it all in.

Quite a few months pass I thought I'd email to see how his doing and any luck and no reply, then I emailed about a month ago again but nothing. 0:23 . Fat lander . Sorry but why 😂😂😂 I saw the guy at awdery extravaganza dressed as rusty in black and a face on the front expecting him to be huge . But the guy was acctually rarther small . I mean the first narrow gauge railway I have ever been to in my life and corris 10 or sirhandel was off down the line so I couldn’t set and in the cab or nothin . So I just went ahead and chilled with rusty . And I am a 5,2 foot tall person and couldn’t fit in the minuscule cab of him . I now wanna make a lil model of him . Maybe using this and just shove some wagon wheels into it and maybe dress him up like the event did . Maybe I could
