A tip from a baker for vanilla syrup: a lot of the flavor compounds in vanilla denature in heat, so for a more complex flavor, add the vanilla after melting the sugar and removing from heat!

Use vanilla sugar. I keep a few used vanilla beans (after making crème brûlée or similar) dry them and chuck them in the sugar container. Or if you find very low grade vanilla beans split them and throw them in the sugar container. Voilà after a few days you have vanilla sugar.

If you don't have the energy or fridge space to freeze-distill milk I've found a can of evaporated milk is about 80% comparable. You get the texture of whole milk with about 60% less water content, but the difference is since evaporated milk is heated is has some caramel-y toasted milk notes and isn't as clean a flavor, still works in a pinch though.

I like this! It reminds me a bit of your older videos when you did all voiceover and made the recipe or technique in “silence”, per se. Now it feels like watching a longer reel! I like the bookended format. Slide in, live intro, VO for the assembly steps, and then live outro... it's also gotta be easier for you to do all the cookery VO, you can take as many shots as you want (pun not intentional!) and then take as long as you need to get the VO right... which means a less frustrated Morgan which means a high probability of better content! AND we still get to have slidey!Morgan! (Though pop-up!Morgan isn't bad either... but I just love the look of glee on your face when a slide goes right. :D ) Oh, and I love the beehive backsplash. I was enjoying your presentation and analysis. I have a lot of vanilla pods and want suggestions for what to do with them. But at about 6:35 in, you got my full attention when you spoke the two magic ingredients, saffron and orange blossom. I’m a saffron lover and try to always it in my pantry. And I love having exotic flavors around to occasionally add to whatever sounds interesting. I am a very curious person, and it is apparent predominantly in two places: my pantry and my audio library. I mean, what could be better than knitting while listening to a riveting book and sipping on a fabulous cuppa Joe? (My idea of a riveting book includes science and speculative fiction, science, historical nonfiction, biography, and memoirs.) So while I wait for my coffee station to be set up, I’ll have a way to make your most intriguing coffee drink. Anyway, I AM FASCINATED BY FROZEN MILK! It’s something that I’ve never heard of before. I like the idea, the mouthfeel is what I would always choose. I just bought an inexpensive ($7.99USD) handheld battery-run (Amazon, two AAs) frother for my coffee. However, I don’t have any milk. So I checked at Amazon, and the only products that peaked my curiosity were a can of organic heavy coconut cream, NESCAFÉ Gold Espresso Intense (Instant Coffee, 3.5 oz.), and an empty bottle with a pouring spout. So they’ll be here tomorrow! I’ll have to wait 9+ days to get the frother, but until then I think I can pour the cream into a bottle with a screw top and either whisk, beat, or shake shake shake it up, right? Besides, I’m not doing the frozen thing with canned coconut milk.
