Thank you this great content. I picked up a old 14ft and would like to add this metal bow plate. Stupid question for you. How did you grind off the plate so you dont have a really sharp edge and area that would slice your fingers off? You riveted yours down but before I'd do that I feel like I'd want to round off both sides?? Not sure as I haven't done it yet but I'd love to know or see a video of how you finish it off. Thanks!

I have just bought my first ever boat & it is exactly like this one. Question: i am 6'5" 305lbs, so i have to build a sub- floor that is very sturdy, but also light weight, & budget friendly. What size angle, with & thickness do you suggest? Boat is 14'Lx53"t-50bW×17"D

I get a deburring/ countersink bit from Harbor freight.

Do you need a special blade on the circular saw for aluminum or just any old blade is strong enough

I've just been using the wood blade that came on my 18V Milwaukee circ saw. It works ok but the blade has pretty aggressive teeth and will jam up - especially on the thinner sheets. Just be very careful and aware of possible kickback.

If you're using aluminum you can bend it around the gunnel with a mallet
