Thanks, Jeremy!! Boy, that last tuck is a doozy!! But after my 4th attempt, I think I've got it down, and I have some tips. First, if you choose in advance which section to use for the final flap, before you start collapsing the model you have more access and can easily fold those creases back and forth to make them really bidirectional. Then, a long, thin poker with a blunt tip can be very useful to puff things out from the inside, and clean up any creases that need attention. (I have a thin knitting needle for this purpose, but a wooden kitchen match would also work.) Once I became familiar with the crease pattern, I decided to do all my folds one at a time on the flat sheet. This took more time, but I was able to make my creases much more accurately. Also, I folded the long radial creases only as far in as necessary, leaving the central octagon creaseless. That makes the face of the finished diamond stiffer, and helped me avoid wearing a hole in the middle from all the squash folds.
