They should have a gimmick with the Nintendo Switch where all menu's on all of their games are interchangeable. That way you could "switch" them around to your liking. I'd personally organise my character select menu into my own custom tier list, because Charizard, Olimar and Zelda really don't deserve to be as low as they are.

wiping three characters off the face of the earth is far from a good solution. what they could have done is placed the mii marker where the random button is and then setting your piece down along the empty gray area is how you pick random. of course, they didn't do that, but i'd rather be able to play every character than have a clean menu in a game with shit menus. 8)

Juan Pedro_ MOV You download each character individually. Corrin and Bayonetta were just released at the same time. Or you can download a bundle with all of them, which I recommend against, because then you're stuck with Bayonetta.

The screen looks fucked to hell without Miis though. Having Link and Zelda separated from the rest of the Zelda characters just looks messy. Plus, three extra playable characters (all 3 mii fighters,) is significantly better than a character select screen with slightly bigger portraits (that have Zelda and Link in messed up spots.)

I deleted all of my miis. But one thing, if we were just allowed to use mini fighters on FG, then most of the problem would be solved. Going from FG to normal battles COMPLETELY changes the menu. A whole new row of characters is added. Which means that EVERY CHARACTER AFER LITTLE MAC IS IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SPOT.

I never said that the design was horrible. As you said so your self it is sub optimal, and it would be better if it were different; and it's not that I care that much, it's just a mere annoyance that could have been easily prevented. Your original comment seems to imply that one should not care about design aspects of the game, and focus more on game play. The ugly character select screen also contributes to the overall bad menus, shitty interface and poor options that the game has, so individually it might not matter that much, but in conjunction with the rest of the minor problems it becomes a rather noticeable annoyance.
