How to Make the Gerrish 3-4-5 Falconry Hood

Materials Used:
Leather; 3 - 4 oz Cowhide Kip or Kangaroo.
Waxed thread; I used split artificial sinew, waxed dental floss works great as well.
Dye; Tandy Leather's Midnight Black dye.
Finish; Tandy Leather's Super Sheen leather finish.
Tools Used:
Computer, internet, printer & paper for the pattern.
Vernier Calipers
Scissors
Razor
Needles; One heavy and one light, you may need several light needles as they may break.
Hammer
Hole Punch
Small Paintbrush

I've done some work on leather and found out that when pushing the needle through the leather it can easily punch a hole in your hand. To prevent this I have taken a small piece of wood, drilled a tiny hole in it and then glued the needle in that hole. No more holes in the hand. Interesting videos about falconry thanks /Chris

Hi, I cant get the pattern generator to work with my Mac. I wonder if you could email me the file please. Hopefully You´ll send me a screenshot in accurate size and then I can change it to the size I want it too be. I will most certainly make hoods for European goshawks And I´m not quite sure what size they are. If you have any idea of the size of these birds let me know. We can only hope that falconry gets legal in Sweden, but that will probably don´t happen before hell freezes over.
