Your anchor is tied at the wrong end. Tie it at the bottom and on top use a small zip tie. This way if the anchor gets stuck you can yank it and break the zip tie pulling up your anchor instead of losing it. I've done the cutting board lid to replace a missing HOODOO rear hatch cover. I used 3/4" cutting board and routered a 1/4" lip so it fit inside a bit.
