I never realized that leather-work could be so interesting! Twenty minutes just flew by watching you work. The holster looks very good and seeing how it's made is cool. The antler catch and leather strap to hold it closed are unique. I think this was the REAL Robert today, but I've been fooled before. All the Best !

Love the use of the antler tip which saves any metal creating scratches on the metal of the pistol. Also looking forward to burning off the sinew ends which I never tried before when I used a lot of sinew back in the 80s for installing billets in saddles. Cheers...Freddie

Thanks Freddie. I started a phone case right after that and will be using the artificial sinew to whip the edges.

While I am not a fan of open carry I will use these techniques to make a holster for my knives. Every time I watch a Robert Little video I learn something new and I love your creativity.

Video was helpful, but showing how you drew the pattern out and explaining some of the reasoning behind the shapes would have been super helpful, especially given you say this is for a beginner.

I appreciate your feedback. Being one of my first videos.. I do think that I have improved in the instructional area since then. Consider checking out one of my more recent videos. Either way I do appreciate the feedback and comments.

Nice little project Robert. On another note and perhaps I missed it, what size (weight) Bary King tooling maul did you end up recently purchasing? Also, was there a reason you went with the tapered head rather than the round head version? I am in the market for a lighter weight maul than my 24 oz BK and the one you are using in your tooling videos seems to be working out well for you. Thanks again for today's video and for your thoughts on my inquiry above. Enjoy your weekend!

Great questions. The leather was actually 8 oz when measured. That is about the lightest weight that I think I would use. The Barry King maul that I purchased for tooling is 16 oz. I like the tapered head for tooling because you can ground your elbow on the bench top and not have to place your wrist at a more uncomfortable angle. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thanks for the additional information regarding your maul selection Robert. Also, thanks for the clarification on the leather weight used for this project.
