How To Make This Beautiful Peach Orange Hawaiian Flower Ribbon Lei

The materials for 36” lei are
12 yards 7/8” orange satin
6 yards 7/8” light peach satin
6 yards 7/8” ivory satin
4.5 yards 7/8” orange sheer
4 yards 7/8” green ombre
4 yards 7/8” green satin
15 ivory kukui nuts (you can use 12mm wooden beads)

I have just finished making this beautiful lei for my daughter’s high school graduation. She absolutely loves it! Your instructions were perfect, easy to follow and materials list was accurate. Not at all difficult if you follow the directions and give yourself plenty of prep time (the petals take quite a bit of time to make)! The kit doesn't come with the needle and thread. Please watch my video 'How to get started..." kzbin.info/www/bejne/qamllYOVm61sb7s When I first started making lei for my children, I used my regular needle and thread. It came out just as good. But with upholstery thread it will be stronger. The needle you can use regular needle. Thank you so much. 🌸🌼😘

Beautiful lei, nice colors. Question on the singe of the end of the ribbon though. I tried to lightly do this to keep the edges together but it did not stick together. In fact, it had a slight burn. How can I fix that? Is it the type of ribbon used although it’s satin? Thanks!!!

I'm pretty sure it's the type of ribbons. Usually satin ribbon is ok. Sheer or organza ribbons are the ones you need to be careful. Actually for making this lei, seal/burn the petals is optional. You can just fold and sew. But I like this way, because it's faster for me to put the petals together. And the petals are neat, no running thread. Thank you for watching.
