i love how youre starting like a whole MOVEMENT in the music producer/production category, i just wanna say u definitely improved the lives of other producers so far and i have created probably double the amount of music that i would typically make since i found u!

good video! here are some of my thoughts/personal experiences: - as mentioned in the video, cutting down on video games will give you so much more time to make music. i completely agree, as i've been able to see the results for myself. - a big thing is getting enough sleep. my brain completely shuts down if i don't get enough sleep, but i had a bad habit of staying up late to try and make up for the time i lost. that does NOT work, and your brain will be fried, leading to bad results. - some days i was tired even after getting sufficient sleep, and i found that taking walks helped me clear my brain. exercise also helps you get a good night's sleep. -i don't have a phone at the moment, but social media is still a big distraction for me, so i make sure to close any apps like discord before i get into a "session." this helps me stay focused and not just click back onto other things.

Sleep is huge. There was originally a section in this vid where I ranted about only getting 6 hours of sleep lol, was too long for the vid tho. Thanks for the comment and thoughts bro

I’m impressed how you face all these problems at your age (I suppose you are younger than me, I’m 30) because I literally am fighting with this for years, still here thinking I don’t have enough time. I was the laziest ass when I was like 18-27 and I got into music business 3 years ago. Since then I’m constantly working on music, side business, trying to generate money for living. It’s exhausting.

This is your best video yet! The way you explained everything was very coherent and is helpful in every aspect of life, not just music production. Keep it up ❤ :)

Thank you! I really needed this, was just thinking about how I could wake up earlier and go to the studio to start working rather than feeling like days are short

Thank you. I feel like as a whole musicians on KZbin are getting so much more aware of the toll music takes on a person. I have this same issue, only when I go to make music while feeling drained, I still end up doing music during that time but it’s not productive or fun. I spend the whole time forcing myself to feel inspired and end up wasting my evening without anything to show for it. This video is amazing

As an adult, you learn to make time for things you really want and love. If you don't find time, you aren't really interested.

this channel brings me back on track every time. some other thoughts: I'm 15 and the story section of the video is *the most relatable shit ive seen this week*. Currently, video games are by far the biggest problem (I've been pretty much addicted from all the way back when i got my ps4 8 years ago) because my brain just shifts to gaming mode as soon as i run out of ideas, or generally when producing becomes less dopamine intensive that gaming/scrolling. Ironically, I want my first achievement in music production to be (if not quitting entirely) limiting my time gaming and scrolling through social media, which is not related to music production at all. The human brain is insanely good at making excuses and convincing you that they are perfectly logical. This also has been a BIG problem for me until just recently. Training yourself to ignore these excuses is also a big thing if you want to become focused and/or consistent not only in music production, but in anything non-addictive really. Also, seeing your channel grow so fast makes me really stoked lol

I've been doing the things you mention for years. My problem is I'm physically have brain damage which stimes my creativity. I was injured in Afghanistan in 2011. Don't worry bro I'm physically fine just not my brain. I joke and call myself 1/2 brain 😂. I guess I do ok lacking so much of my creative part of my body. Your videos are awesome! I feel like I'm on some ground level movement! Keep going! Sgt Boudreau (ret)

For some the challenge isn't time but rather housing. You can't make much noise in most rental properties. (And a lot of us can't afford to buy a house.)
