You've really honed your craft! ... it's incredible to watch. I'm sitting here trying to understand what happened to the girl on the left to make her so sad, why do her eyes just say pain. Well done! You make it look so easy! 👏 Oh noooo, at 14:52 you change her eyes and suddenly she's not sad anymore. I don't know if I'm happy about that. 🤣

Instead of using regular charcoal to tone the canvas i would use vine charcoal powder to do the same job it's very soft and u are more likely to get an even tone and less likely to damage the paper.

Zin Lim At the beginning of the video didn’t you say you were using vine charcoal to make the powder? Isn’t vine charcoal powder from a jar and that which you sanded basically the same thing? Maybe I misunderstood.

+Ken Coogan Strathmoor 50lb for this demo but I also work on Blick or Utrecht drawing pad 70-80lb as well as on Bristol which are thicker, easier to preserve.

Would this work if you were to have charcoal paper toned with vine charcoal?
@zinlimart

Charcoal drawing paper surface is more rough than this paper. So, powder won't be smudged as easily as this smoother paper.

But maybe instead of putting the powder right on top of the paper...u can put the powder on a separate sheet of paper dip a clean tissue and then blend it on another clean sheet it would be more smoother.
