Will you please make a video showing how to make top bars out of a single piece of wood? Meaning don't use 2 pieces, just cut a single piece

Which method are you referring to? I know some that take a single topbar, cut a groove down the middle, than fill the groove with beeswax and others that take a single topbar without the groove, stretch a string down the middle of it then pour molten beeswax over the string to adhere it to the topbar. There is a third way where you start with a 2x piece of wood and using a series of cuts end up with the V shaped piece on bottom. The idea of the V shaped piece is simply to guide the bees into putting the comb where you want it. There are lots of ways to make that happen. I really cant say which it best as I have not tested the different ways of doing it. The easiest method I have seen puts a groove down the middle of the topbar and then you glue in popsicle sticks into the groove. To me it is the easiest because you only have one setup on the table saw (blade at 90 deg) and you adjust the depth of the cut to cut the bar to width, then readjust the blade depth and fence to make the groove. For those you could use wax foundation, or plastic foundation in place of the popsicle sticks.

@@GrandpasPlace the 3rd option is the one i was talkin about. Where you cut the 45° angle and then do the side cuts. The end result is very similar to what you did but there's no gluing involved

Good info, but made me nervous to watch you cut on that wiggly table saw with a cigar in one hand. Please be careful!

Did you change projects ? Those topbar hives look 6 feet long. The other video you have showed 44 1/4 inch sides .
