This is very difficult to follow because the fabric doesn't have any design, so is hard to tell if the fabric has to be facing the designs or not. I had to look for another video. Plus we are looking at it upside down so is hard to tell

Chinos is fine. Tote bag is usually not a strong bag, it fabric bag.
