I've had problems with crumbly clay as well. If you had a few drops of oil, (I like coconut) it will help to soften it. That works really well.. Fun idea by the way, the ornaments are super cute! :)
@CarlyKeller7 жыл бұрын
That is a great tip!! Im sure it wont be the last crumbly clay I will purchase! Most of them in the store are pretty hard. I wasn't picky with the brand the second time around, just picked the softest ones lol
@Ariverao97 жыл бұрын
Carly Keller Premo is a good brand and their clay is almost always soft, if you're looking for softer clay. I think Fimo is the best, (and the most expensive, go figure) and their clay varies in softness and hardness.
@CarlyKeller7 жыл бұрын
The softer clay was definitely easier to work with. I squished them all in store to find the softest :) Fimo is what I ended up with!
@Tzaddiel7 жыл бұрын
The reason why the clay is crumbly is because you need to condition polymer clay well before you use it. Otherwise the polymers domt mix well and your result will Crack and break.

Loved your videos. I got a Cricket last Christmas. I asked for a scuttle bug & my husband decided the cricket is better! What he didn't consider is I hate using my home computer..... anyway it has sat in the box for a year now. I did pay for the design space but I found it impossible to understand & it now like this elephant in the room ( garage). It would be great if there was a Cricket tutorial for non IT fan dummies like me. I'd happily pay & I'm confident others would to. I hasten to say I'm a professional & use IT all the time in my work but at home, in craft & with cricket I just don't get it.... anyway I loved your video & clear explorations. Keep it up. Sharon

Hi Sharon! Thank you so much for the kind words. It took me about a year to understand and grasp the ins and outs of Cricut Design Space. I am still learning new things all the time! Just takes patience and of course having your Cricut out of the box ;)

@CarlyKeller7 жыл бұрын
These are on glass ornaments and did just fine! Of course they are fragile with the horns and flowers so I would be extra careful with them :) Some people use e6000 glue.

So I noticed that you didn't use a Mac or iPhone to do this project. I was told the cricut air 2 needs to be only used with Apple products. That's why I didn't buy it.
@CarlyKeller7 жыл бұрын
Hi Dani! I am actually using the Cricut Explore Air (I goofed in the video). You should be able to use Cricut Design Space with any machine as long as you have the listed requirements: help.cricut.com/help/system-requirements-design-space
@ashleynichole56926 жыл бұрын
I have a Windows computer and use Cricut, but definitely check out what your computer is running at. I had an old computer before and it could not handle the size of DS... so I upgraded (long overdue). I checked the website first for specs needed (as Carly as kindly linked) and took with me to Best Buy when I scouted. Gold luck.

HI Amy! Yes, you can use a sharpie to DIY the eyes and names! There are so many different things you can do with these. I have horrible handwriting so I use on my Cricut for almost everything :)

I have really shaky hands because of epilepsy. I use a manual die-cutting machine. Manual or electric, it's a tool. If a carpenter called something handmade even though he had used an electric file somewhere for detail would anyone say it's not hand made? Just as a matter of interest. I know a lot of people have dexterity issues so the cutting machines are what enables them to KEEP crafting.

Emer Henry you are so correct. Very nice words you used to someone who it would have been just as easy to be nasty to
