Good video, if you come across this problem again where you have to add to a door frame like you did just turn the frame as you had a 42mm add on the door is 35mm that left you 7mm you could overlap the stop bead on the joint. We called them skeleton frames. Good job none the less mate 👍

I like your work mate, however not sure how cost effective that way to make a door frame. I'm assuming you can't a frame that wide or maybe in that thickness, good vid all the same

Good Afternoon Bro. I'm a University student 21 years old. Second year. Do you suggest I learn vocational skills like carpentry, Electrician, HVAC after Uni or before the end of Uni? I'm kind of stuck of seeking for mentors to learn from or is necessary to got for apprenticeship to get practical experience. I'm a learner who prefers practical experience if you were in my shoes, what do you think is best? What's the best thing to do?

do you leave a gap between overall width of frame and the opening, brick to brick measurement. Did you say 12 mm? Is that right? not too much? no psckers?
@ttdowgcarpentry23902 ай бұрын
on this occasion it was a tight fit because the bricks was plumb I did use plastic packer to raise up a little to make level but that was about it. usually I would leave 12mm gap and use timber wedges to make plumb
@nazarmlk77322 ай бұрын
6mm gap each side might be too big. If you do fire rated doors is should be between 2-4mm.
@jabtothehead99422 ай бұрын
6mm gap for packing I think eh emans
@ttdowgcarpentry23902 ай бұрын
correct if fire door it would be smaller unless the opening was very out of plumb , in most cases will have to use correct wedges and use B2 fire class expansion foam

what you mean, is the dry liners over boarded the opening, and you've made a right mess trimming it back.

No offence, but surely you'd just rip down a piece of timber to the right size?
@ttdowgcarpentry23902 ай бұрын
your right I did explain this in the video the client got the materials I worked with what was on site but I would recommend getting larger then ripping timber down to suit

Who’s the course for. It’s too much for DIY and any tradesperson would know better. As in the comments. I know who needs a joiners course. And while I’m on. Your every decorators nightmare. Putting nail holes everywhere and not filling them. Especially in finished skirting boards. Fill your own holes and finish your own work. Once it’s filled sanded and painted. You’re truly clueless. Fill and sand your own work. You can’t leave it for a decorator to finish your rough work. Terrible. A COURSE. Wow.
