Awesome tutorial man! One thing I would do differently is enabling and disabling the eq2 at around 2:19. If you create the automation clip while the effect plugin is turned off, it will be off by default, until you turn it on with the automation clip. This tutorial is kinda old tho, so you probably already know that xD

2:27, if you put the fx channel plugin to zero (not max) [before creating the autoclip] then you can skip this step.
