Hi Jacob, I have a problem, I am trying to make this effect of opening a floor in my case, and my original video is vertical, when I do the project from view it does not project well, I have tried to change it in the UV editor and no matter how much I adjust the scale, it doesn't stay completely in place. In horizontal videos I don't have any problem with this, but in vertical videos there is no way for it to be correct. I don't know if you have encountered this error or if you know the solution, I don't know what else to do, not even chat gpt saves me haha. I hope you know, thanks for your videos.

He did mention a bit about the geometry, and how subdividing it is how you would make it act more realistic *and* have better rendering like you say, so try that and see how it looks.
