The sound is there, but what is missing is the variety in expression and slight differences in articulation. Also, the arrangement is kind of repetitive, orignal late 60s / early 70s records would never sound like that.

It's a sample, it's not meant to sound exactly like a 70s record. He's more so going for the feel and vibe. Sampled records are usually repetitive in their arrangement, that's why he did it that way. Think Hip Hop more than R&B or Jazz.
@ikehayes9252

@@natcoziay The original records are not repetitive. What is often repetitive is the way the original sample is being utilized in a (for example) hiphop track that uses that sample. But even here there are different levels. People using the exact same 4-bars loop, one track ends up sounding very repetitive, the other track has the right amount of variation.

Dope... but, you need to call out the patches being used if you're going to call this a "How to..." You're giving the VSTs, great... what patches are being used?
@theproducerlife
@theproducerlife Жыл бұрын
They were all default patches that's why I didn't say them or show them.. Rickenbacker bass was "Default", the Analog Lab V strings was "Default", Addictive Keys Piano "Default, Voices of soul patch I said was the "La" patch. If you watch my other videos I always show the patches when it comes to me making a sample. This one wasn't necessary

@@theproducerlife Again, I love what you're doing, but if you don't say this is the "default" patch, then naturally I'm not going to know that... thanks responding.
