you have many amazing ideas as ways to recycle newspapers. But I see many possibilities with this one concept as well. Made smaller, and either paint the newspapers or just use a pretty paper for the last bit to cover the news print gives you the opportunity to recycle, but also have a pretty piece as well. But if made a bit smaller it would make an ideal trash bin for smaller areas like the family room, bathroom, by a makeup table or vanity, or even bedside to put those tissues when you have a cold or allergies. Since it's covered with plastic you wouldn't necessarily need to line it with a bag, just wipe clean with a cloth that can be laundered or a disposable baby wipe. If made even smaller yet, it could be used on the table top to put scraps like orange peels or egg shells or what have you for food prepping that could be composted instead of going in with the regular trash. But either way it's a very useful product using a technique that is not used as often as it should be. I've made 1 basket in my life with a friend who had the materials to make baskets with reeds and other organic material used to make them. I had so much fun, but that was a while ago. But I am really liking the idea of using rolled up bits of news print to recycle for basket making because the list of items that can be made is about endless. Or only limited by your imagination. And newspapers build up fast, although my hubby uses a bunch to start our charcoal grill (we prefer that to a gas grill) but I am thinking I need to ask my dad for his old papers as he subscribes to a few newspapers. Then when the pile gets to tall he burns them in his burn barrel, he lives in the country so most trash gets burned as he doesn't get trash service. That's pretty common here for rural living people though. But he's always trying to pawn off plastic store bags on me, so I'm going to start asking for his newsprint as well. Hi Mitanjali....your work is very inspirational. If I may suggest you, to leave a little bit hole at one corner when you pressed the plastic sheet. Then use a hairdryer, push out all the air which is still trapped inside to the hole side and when you see no more air, you seal it. This way, the plastic would stick to the newspaper nicely, just like when you use laminating press machine. Well it is still good work .....

Thank you very much Alicecapone...yes, you are right, but in this case, one side of the sheet is completely open hence ironing it from close end to the open end would push out all air, 2nd I avoided the hair dryer cause many will not be using it...

Hi Tracy, it is transparent Polythene sheets, yes it might be available in fabric or home good stores, better to look out in craft, book or office stationary stores, also it is available online like Amazon etc....iron should be in medium temperature...
