I got started in candles 6 years ago as an extension of our skin care line, to give us another avenue to our line. We started with coconut blend wax and Eco Soy pillar wax for our wax melts. A year ago in the fall we extended our candle business to include a luxury line. Using Apricot coconut creme and a beeswax line. We really picked up our game, lol! I enjoy watching YT candle and skin care videos. As my wife and I don't have a channel. Not our thing, but we enjoy giving opinions when we see a need too. We are both enjoying your series so far.

I've watched other guides and tutorials on making Wax melts but it was confusing and a bit overwhelming. The way you explained everything was very easy to understand and has made me feel more confident to try and make my own. I would love to start my own small company or even add it as a gift with other things I make. Yeast ago I wanted to start a candle business I got started but then gave up. So long story short I melted the candles I had already made and turned them into wax melts. I found that if I stuck the molds in the freezer the was came out of the molds much easier without breaking and I used the flaked soy wax.

I don't dye my candles, not even my wax melts. :) But if you want to dye your candles I would recommend getting liquid dye. :)

Yes, you’re always better off melting any wax in the melting pot.

464 isn’t good for wax melts. You need a tart wax.

My husband made container candles a few years ago, he had 20lbs of wax leftover, I want to use it for wax melts for myself. Problem is, the wax wasn’t left in the box it was ordered in. It has no name or number on it. Is there anyway to tell what kind of wax this is? He can’t remember, but it’s hard as a rock.

It can be hard for multiple reason, you can go ahead and test a small portion of it and see what happens.

It will all depend on your wax. This tart wax holds up to an 18% I do 15%. There are other tart waxes that only hold 10%

I was trying to use the formula you mentioned on your channel and I don't know if I was doing it right.

You need to use my calculations based on the fragrance. So the 10 is this equation is irrelevant because you are using different scents. Does that make sense. So double my formula based on the number of melts per that scent.

Hi 👋🏼. I watched the prev video on formula. And this one. I have a quick question. Would you not end up with too much over the container weight if you take the wax weight and add on the FO? Eg. My wax clam is 80g max fill weight.. So I would be looking at 80g minus fo% to give me the wax weight Eg 72 approx and the rest up to 80 to be fo %. Is that wrong? I'm starting out and finding lots of different formulas it's super confusing me 😅. Xx

HI, I use ounces because its easier for me. My wax melts hold 2.7 oz of wax and even with adding the FO the fill remains the same. I never have left over wax. I hope this helps.
