Thank you for this recipe! We have pink wood sorrel here in the Caribbean, I just found out what it was today. I am already drying leaves and flowers, and I cannot wait to tell all of my neighbors how to use this! Thank you so much!

Wood sorrel grows in many more habitats than you mentioned. It pops up all over gardens, in lawns, by the sidewalk, and is fine with full sun.

Yes, it is all over my back patio here in the Caribbean. We have it growing in-between concrete in the full sun, and also in the soil in the shade. It is everywhere!

Great video! Just finished my 2nd foraging trip and I've been reading/learning all I can. I picked a bunch of wood sorrel and sheep sorrel. Trying to figure out what to do with it. This video helps! Thanks!

I'm from a totally different background than yourself, but I'm also concerned about passing down these recipes and traditions. We live in a world where very few can provide for themselves, and basic herbs and gathering should be common knowledge. My son has known how to pick out wood sorrels since he was 3, and I'm sure it will be one of those forever lessons.

i thought wood sorrel should only be eaten in moderation due to the acid in it or something. wouldnt drinking a glass of this cause upset? (looks good tho!)

It is high in oxalic acid which can be problematic for those with kidney stones, but the amount you are going to get from a glass of lemonade is not going to impact you adversely. Now, if you drank it every day while eating other foods high in oxalic acid ( spinach, beet greens, chard, rhubarb, sweet potatoes) it could cause a problem eventually especially if you are already prone to kidney issues, but as an occasional tart refresher it should be no problem.

@@jessipeterson5844 awesome, thank you for the reply. How long does it keep for once made? Can it also be frozen?
