Not recommended, because Li-ion battery reach upto 4.2 volts but D-219 internal IC SI4825 design for 2V to 3.6V , So not recommended at all.

but you can add resistance or a 3v voltage regulator i.e 7803...or the input DC port of d219 supports 5V as it has an inbuilt voltage regulator .The SI4825 chip runs from 2v to 3.6v . BL 5c battery and TP 4056 BMS module provides 3.7v. 0.1 v does nothing .. 😊

It probably does have a voltage regulator, I run mine with a removable 14500 AA size lithium battery, with a AA size Battery shaped paper roll with a copper wire in the middle to short one end to the other, and put the battery and the dummy battery together in the chamber and close the lid. It works absolutely fine...

Of course you could have just used two rechargeable AA batteries... I keep them on hand myself

Yes...but you also needed to carry a charger ..and it's so irritating to remove the batteries to charge each time

Why not use a USB power bank module with 18650 cells and connect it to the 5v port at the top of the radio ? 18650 cells are much safer and cheaper ...

The size of the 18650 battery is thicker than BL5C . it does not fit inside the radio as the Xhdata D219 Radio is very Slim.

You should connect the charging module input to the 5v input pin of the radio and the charging module battery output to the battery terminals with a 3.3v boost and Buck converter regulator

I have connected the BMS into the 5v socket of the Radio and connected the battery output to the battery terminals as the BL 5c Battery Provides 3.7V output.and it has an inbuilt bms circuit which converts the 5v into 3.7v ..

BL5c battery inbuilt protection board doesn't convert 4.2v to 3.7v and it is just to protect the battery from over draining ie: less than 2.4v so that the lipo doesn't get permanently discharged. The connection that you've made by directly connecting the BL5c directly to the battery input is degrading the life of your components as they are getting over voltage and will give up soon and also if you try to put cells in the radio the cells will get leaked because they will reciever reverse current from the lipo battery so modify it by connecting a 3.3v buck and boost converter to battery output of the charging board and connect a diode in between the battery connector positive and input on the pcb and also connect the 3.3v buck and boost converter output to the pcb input directly and not on the external battery terminal

you can directly connect it to the battery terminal of D219 ..it works perfectly as the BL5C and TP4056 BMS provide 3.7v output .. SI4825 IC runs from 2 v to 3.6V ...0.1v does nothing. (It will drop while travelling through resistors of the internal circuit ) 😊 (You can check the voltage with a multimeter ) but you have to charge the battery in the switch off position. If you still have doubts then you can connect a 7803 (3v) voltage. regulator. (Plz do it at your own risk. I am not responsible for any loss or damage )

If you turn on your radio by mistake someday while it is on charge it will blow up because the tp4056 will throw 4.12 - 4.2 volts @ 1amp straight into your radio curcit and the radio curcit is designed for 3.6v +-1% @ 350ma max hence it will blow up! Phew Anyway I'm not even going to open it up cause I use AA 900mah rechargeable batteries and they last for a month, I do a lot of electronics stuff but I do like to keep things simple and prefer equipment safely before modifying electronics gadgets.
