Hi there from Switzerland😇As I don't have an instant pot, I usually do the same steps you told us about and then after filling the mix into jars, I store them wrapped in a warm towel insode an isolated bag (you use for shopping frozen goods). Onto the towel I place a hot-watter bottle with not boiling water in it. Seal it.walk away😍cheers

I've been making Instant Pot yogurt for years but this gave me some good tips! I'm excited to see if I can make it thicker 😋 Thank you! ❤️ From Colorado

I don't have yogurt made yet, this is my first time making it in the instant-it. I bought yogurt starter, I'm confused on the amount that I use (for using 1 gallon of milk) and how to incorporate it into my already heated milk. Can someone help me in this step? I've googled and all videos I come across use left over yogurt.

So i don’t have a cow. What kind of store bought milk do I use? Just whole organic milk will do?

Hey fellow Canadian, I use the saute feature but I am getting grainy yogurt. Maybe it's getting too hot, does it automatically turn off at 180 using the boil feature?

Thanks for this tutorial. It's helped simplify the process for me. Out of interest, can you freeze some of the yoghurt once made, to defrost and use next time as a culture?
@cheesefromscratch38232 жыл бұрын
Ya you can! 🥰

When you put the jars into the instant pot do you put them on a rack and do you add water to the bottom of the pot?? New to instant pot using.
@cheesefromscratch38232 жыл бұрын
No you don't have to put the rack or water in as long as you are not using the boil function. Basically the yogurt function is just for keeping the jars warm, its not doing any cooking.

Can you use a store bought skyr or Greek style as culture or should it be plain culture? I know Greek is strained but I don’t if skyr is a culture specific thing

So you are telling me nothing bad happens if it just stays there for 24 hours? 😱 I just threw away my first batch because even though it looked and smelled great it had to sit for 18 hours because barely nothing happened in the first 8 hours. I think it was because the temperature was too cold. I had it inside a pot, but the temperature was not hot enough. I had to put hot water in it after 8 hours, and then ripen until 18 hours. I sort of got my yogurt but wasn't sure of the product. Does anyone know if I could have use it anyways? In case it happens again?

When you strain it for Greek yogurt, do you throw out the liquid?
@chrisem79 Жыл бұрын
It depends on you. I'm lactos intolerant so I throw the liquid stuff out. Other people use it in recipes and smoothies to ad nutrition.

@@nancyrdz333 Have you tried raw unpasteurized milk? I'm 37 and hadn't had a glass of milk since I was 20. I was told I'm severely lactose intolerant. I got myself some raw milk from a farm not far from me. With almost shaky hands (I was so nervous because I know how painful 1/2 a glass is for me) I chugged it. I had no reaction what so ever. I wanted to cry lol. I'm now OBSESSED. We live on a farm and I'm buying a Jersey cow this week for my own milk lol. If it doesn't work for you, I know you can make it out of coconut milk and a probiotic. You would just need to google.

If you’re using raw milk and the instant pot boils it, doesn’t that kill a lot of the good stuff? :/
