HOW TO FIX CHOPPY AUDIO I tried to follow this video, but when it came to using voicemeeter my voice was cutting out constantly - every half second it would skip, and also sounded a bit robotic. I spent ages making sure everything in voicemeeter, OBS, and windows setting were all using the same Hz values, and then updating all drivers, which didn't fix it either. The way I fixed it was changing the Hardware Input and Hardware Output from "WDM" to "MME" - don't know whether that would have an effect on quality but it fixed it for me. You can change these by clicking where it says 'Hardware Input' which is where you would normally select your microphone, and your hardweare output in the top right of the app. hope this helps someone!

Okay, So for anyone thinking they ran out of hope when their mic sounded like it was pitter pattering cutting in and out. You've found yourself in the right spot. Things To Check: 1. Voicemeeter main ui > menu > System Settings/Options, once there, locate the Buffering area. A lot of them for some dumb reason are different usually all 512 though, I highly reccomend you switch all the sample rates to 1024. Do so by clicking the number. 2. Make sure you have both the Input and the A1 Output are both set to mme. 3. Make sure you haven't clicked anything accidentally when raging when you watched the video to only find out the main steps in the video don't lead to success. 4. Go to audacity and play around. Like so the hopeless people find happiness

Discord mic resolution (Perfect on all other platforms except discord API): Okay step 1: Discord > Settings > Voice & Video > Output and Input area, once here make sure you're using your normal mic input and not the voicemeeter AB, the program applies to the microphone itself and ends up cutting in and out as stated before the fix Step 2: Discord > Settings > Voice & Video > Voice Processing area, once you've located this section, turn ON Echo Cancellation, turn OFF Noise Reduction, turn OFF Automatic Gain Control. Step 3: Discord > Settings > Voice & Video > Input Sensitivity area, Turn OFF Automatically Determine Input Sensitivity, Adjust the bar to your select perfection, preferably majority of the bar should be green, up to you though. If this doesn't resolve your issue let me know and I'll get back to you. Enjoy

It's pretty rare for me to comment on videos, but I have to say after flipping around your channel there's quite a few tips I'll be taking you up on since I'm in the middle of revamping my own channel. Thanks for putting these types of videos together because the knowledge you're dropping is very informational for the average joe. I've been using Voicemeeter for a few months now with my Blue Snowball, but I just upgraded to the Yeti today and these new settings seems to work pretty well over my old setup. Also the tips you were giving out for rendering with Adobe Premiere and removing background noise with Audacity was nice to see refreshed opinions in both of those areas. You just earned yourself a sub. :)

I ran across a really simple fix for a lot of background noise a few months ago that fixed an issue I didn't even know I had with my Yeti. When recording stuff on it, during editing, there was always some sort of low fuzz in my recording. For two years I took that to be my CPU fan and would just go in and do noise reduction with Audition, and call it a day. But I ran across a KZbin video that blew my mind. (THE IMPORTANT PART) Turns out, Windows, when installing the Yeti software, in the audio property settings for the Yeti, sets the Microphone to 100. Makes sense, I suppose, but turns out that's like WAY too high. If you were to turn that down to about 7 or 8, and just cranked up the Gain on the back of the Yeti a bit to compensate, you get the EXACT same quality audio, BUT you lose the entirety of that background noise all together. I used to leave a few moments of quiet at the beginning of all of my recordings to come back and use as a footprint for noise reduction, but now I don't have to do that in the slightest! Ever since I discovered this, I try to scream it at the top of my lungs for all Yeti owners. It's such a simple fix that saves sooooooo much time! I hope someone reads this and it helps them out!!

so it worked, almost flawless until you perform the following. here's a tip: when you load the provided fix by Gaming careers, it will be an option all the way to the right upper corner where it says: "HARDWARE OUT" make sure you select the appropriate one according to your mic, if the Frequency differs from your actual mic frequency, I'll start cracking up like it was doing for me. the default or basically the one that comes on the blue mic.XML is set to 2ch 44hz, my mic was set to 2ch 48hz, once you select the MME "blue yeti" to match with how it is like in your control panel, then you're set! ALSO: thanks admin for this guide, is really helpful and I'm grateful for it and what you have provided us with :D

OMG I have not even finished watching your video yet and already I am impressed, you seem to be able to do what seemingly 98% of KZbin content creators cannot do, wait for it, you can make you intro sound the same volume as your vocal.... this must be some kind of Voodoo or black magic on your part (or perhaps you have a volume control thing-a-whatsit that you use) because it is RARE to not get my ears blown out by the music of the intro followed by a vocal input that is 10X lower volume and nearly impossible to hear. EVERY KZbin content creator should be required to understan basic sound mixing BEFORE they are allowed to upload.

wesley barham i think i found out a fix but it’s kinda annoying. Basically every time it would be choppy i just exited out of voice meter and reopened and it started working again.

I'm not certain if I'm asking the right question but do you need to remove the audio filters from OBS including VST plugins such as ReaEQ or will the settings on the new install override them?
@williamperkins42792 жыл бұрын
Good understanding of an EQ and Compressor would give you more self tailored results. This method just simplifies commonly used vocal eq settings probably if ya know how to probably operate vsts I'd stick with those.

Try going into the Voicemeeter options and changing the "Engine Mode" to "swift". Does that fix it?

I have a question... I did everything you said step by step however with the voice meter, it is glitchy? how might I fix this?
@GamingCareers8 жыл бұрын
Hmm, that could be one of many things and really depends on what you mean by glitchy. Here's a few things to try: 1. In Voicemeeter, go to Menu -> System settings and change Engine Mode from Normal to Swift (if this doesn't work then go back to Normal) 2. Try reinstalling your drivers for your Blue Yeti 3. Record what the glitchyness sounds like in Audacity and upload it for me to listen to. 4. Do you have a semi-decent PC? Voicemeeter does require *some* processing power but really not a lot.

Romeo Toivonen well the standard CD uses 44100k, so do a test for your self between the two and see what sounds better

If anyone is having subtle crackles in their voice having these settings shown in the video (and/or using RTX voice as well) the way to fix this is by having your HARDWARE INPUT and HARDWARE OUT set to "MME" not "WDM" as shown in the video. This was a problem happening to me and I thought the mic had issues, but it wasn't the mic.
@murdaaufschellenberg51284 жыл бұрын
If i get Voicemeeter do I need to use the OBS settings as well? I mean The settings you were talking about in the other video.
@jaysoncadano4 жыл бұрын
Hi, you shouldn't need OBS settings anymore since the sound that OBS is getting is already processed.

it sounds like my voice is vibrating and doubling (echoing) I used your settings. I have a sound blaster type of audio and I just don't know what to do. it's driving me crazy here--it's picking up everything. ;w;
@Siaynoq87 жыл бұрын
Can you be more specific? Sound Blaster 16, Pro, AWE 32??
@Arvin_diesel7 жыл бұрын
Try lowering your audio gain on your mic. That's how I fixed my echoing.
@farmeracob95617 жыл бұрын
have the same issue, adjusting gain doesnt help
@HannahKayW6 жыл бұрын
Perhaps all of you copied his settings so well that you put a hardware input into both the first and second options? It is possible you are using your mic and your webcam mic. Make sure the mic's you don't want to use are disabled and that your voice meeter is only set up to input one version of each mic you intend to use. Also try it without stereo repeat.
@caydenbrown20956 жыл бұрын
You might need to get a boom stand for your yeti. You need to get it off the table so it doesn’t vibrate. And you also might need to get a voice isolation box. They can be cheap, and run you about $20. Also try post processing in audacity

You sure did a wonderful job setting this all up for us. What a wonderful... kind effort you have done here. I am used to using a condenser 48 phantom w/ alesis mixer.. but it is old and the mixer is having issues now, and I know technology is starting to evolve these USB mics nicely... I just bought my YETI and you were a delight to find here and I am on my way.. downloading and the also all the neat skill you provided with settings download. THANK.. YOU!!! I do this kind of stuff for a karaoke site.. but more into appearance HTML , CSS coding.. so audio is a bit new to me. I just wanted to thank you very much.. I know you took a great deal of time here and I sure appreciate it... I will follow up here later with my results of your tutorial... THANK YOU... and THANK YOUUUUUUUU... did I say THANK YOU?...

When I record with one and audacity there’s always a fuzzy sound in the background is there a fix? (I’m using a different mic not the yeti)
@urnotfunny27805 жыл бұрын
Do you have gain control? If so, then turn down gain on your computer and crank it to 8, then set the gain control on your mic to whatever you want. If you don't have manual gain control on the microphone itself, then tough luck.
