Great video, I really appreciate the humbleness and transparency. I have a lot of learning to do and appreciate the depth of knowledge you share. What I like is that you give hope that any car may be able to do better with the right set up. I don’t think I really understood or appreciated how such slight changes to geometry could have such a powerful impact, but I see that much more clearly now. Thanks!

I like your take on education.... who cares about some piece of paper, the point is learning and gaining the knowledge you want or need. Also very much appreciate the honesty about the negatives and shortcomings in the kit. Maybe when my son is ready to step up inti 1/8 scale we will give the JQ cars a look. There has been a handful of folks running the JQ cars here in the Pacific Northwest of the US. We are just diving into 4wd classes for 2021, and I think a couple more seasons of racing would be good before we dive into 1/8 scale. Happy New Year to you, and good luck sorting out updates to the car or the next edition of JQ kits!

Great advise. I’m getting knowledge, and understanding things even when your telling racing stories or test stories. I’m like that’s what I should try, or that’s why that does that, so just you sharing the things you’ve tried and worked or didn’t, it helps a lot. Thanks. Keep doing these cuz it definitely transfers to other chassis. 👍🏼

Question for you as an engineer: in the late 00’s and early ‘10’s, cars like the Losi 8ight, HB D8 and Serpent S811 had a different style of steering knuckle when compared to Kyosho, all those cars seemed fairly successful with that design. Why do you think it went away back to the traditional knuckle design we see today?

A lot of the negative things I've had same issues with my favorite brand; I've also experienced brittle plastics, heads of screws shearing off..which were fixed with later updates...makes me wonder if it was the same materials shared with manufacturers for a while..

@@invisiblespeedrc Question. Ive heard heard on some of your videos say you don't run shock bladders. how do you seal the shock caps then from leaking through the threads and also some caps have a bleeder hole. How do you seal em?

They seal with an Oring that replaces the bladder. It’s called emulsion style shock build. You will also need emulsion style shock caps also to complete the change over

It is a little bit late but i have a simpel question. I did some racing in de Netherlands in de truggy cup. Raced a trt robotronics mantis a thunder tiger St1 and stil have de Hong nor X2 crt. I am racing for fun so no professional 🍺 but did oké thru constant driving en smooth throttle . Keep it on the track en in one piece is half of the race won allready. I set the car up standard and made some little adjustments en run it like that all the races. My question is , do i need 32 different camberlink positions or 20 different shock positions if i am not a professional racer with a team but just a man with a campingtable and a cheap engine . No , i don't . so why not a cheaper and simpeler version so you don't keep fiddeling about but just race the damn thing.
@invisiblespeedrc3 жыл бұрын
The black edition has 4 shock positions and 3 link positions on the towers. On the hubs there are 3 long and 3 short. There you go.

Why not measure droop like HB does on the hex vs measuring the shock length? Saying even or 4 below would be easier.
@invisiblespeedrc4 жыл бұрын
That is the best way, but it is also the hardest to do precisely, and people will not do it correctly. So when its about a specific car like here I just mention the shock length. I think the best way is to measure the hex and shock length together.
