I haven't worked too much with custom elements so these might be questions that don't even make sense, but will googlebot index information in a closed shadow dom? What about in a user agent shadow dom? Although, I guess it doesn't matter too much regarding the user agent shadow dom since developers can't edit it. I'm just curious haha.

This talk has nothing to do with the content, especially not with making your content Shine, as its headline suggests! The actual headline for this topic should be "Rendering websites with Google bot". UX for this talk is against all Google UX guidelines. I guess the same guidelines do not apply to them as well.
