I had a 2010 charger and i had the PYPES violator system and for about $400-500 it sounded really good and it was a true dual.i have a 2014 blacktop hemi challenger with flowmaster delta 40s and a resonator delete and it sounds 10x better with the delete.and for all you guys with V6s dont listen to the hate from all the hemi heads or mustang fan boys theres nothing wrong with a v6.i had a super sport track challenger(rare high performance model) and with a exhaust system people made me pop the hood because it sounded like a v8 and the 6s are a stepping stone to a v8 anyway so be proud of your 6!

So if I were to move the muffler back in the layout, the sound will be deeper? The V6 has a great low tone right at start up, and I want to figure out how to have the continue with the car. Like I've said I don't want to get much louder, decency laws and living with the parents and stuff, but bringing out the lows of the 3.5L would be great.

The muffler placement is just one variable like I said. I think in your case where you don't want to go too loud you should definitely play around with a few things, like keeping resos on with a new muffler, seeing how it sounds and changing it up until you get the sound you want. Mine was up on the hoist for a while with a bunch different mufflers/piping and trying it out at different RPMs and just went with what I liked best

I wouldn’t do it pipes are too big. 5.7 has 2.5” diameter, V6 of any year is 2.25”. Too much space for the exhaust to go you will lose performance to some degree

@marspeed so I finally got my exhaust! im excited lol I wanted a exhaust that was loud and has a deep growl but not too loud! so I got recommended magnapacks! (magnaflow glass pack) I got the stainless steel 2.25 pipes but the bad thing is that the magnapacks come in 1 pipe so I got a x pipe for my dual exhaust and had to put 2 magnapacks after that and got 3.5 chrome tips! it cost me 400! sounds amazing! I want to send you a video!!!

dunno if this will get answered. i have a 2010 charger with the 5.7 hemi. has dual exhaust from factory, 1 mid suitcase style muffler, and a resonator at each tip(very large like a small magnaflow muffler) people in the states sometimes remove the suitcase and just run the resonators to get a meaner sound. up here in ontario a car must have a muffler, and i cant find anywhere if the resonators will suffice for a muffler or not.. any ideas ?

No I don't think resonators don't count as a muffler, but here most people remove the resonators and add a different muffler that is designed for performance (smaller, louder, more air flow, etc.) just like I did with my exhaust removing the resonators and keeping a muffler is a good option and what most people do

The Same Effect not sure if I mentioned it, but I see an increase of maybe 1-2 mpg and saw a bit more power at first. Now I’m so used to it so can’t speak much to the increase in power

I've notice there's different sizes, the car has 2.25 but all I find is 2.5 single In and dual out 2.25 for the flow master super 10 , does the 2.5 in and 2.25 out will fit?

Martin Rios looks like if it's single piping it's 2.5" and then goes down to 2.25" at the muffler so 2.5 in 2.25 dual out is the right one

I've tried/heard a few different mufflers, I've got Flowmaster 10s which I said in the video, love it and it's really loud and sounds great when you step on it. Might be too loud for some people though, next one down that's not so aggressive but still sounds sick would be Flowmaster 40s or 44s

Don't know too much about Borlas, yeah they are most expensive of these 3 brands, apparently they also have the least drone as well. Honestly they all sound good (much better than stock) so I think it's up to you for exactly what you want, everyone likes a different sound. Just compare different KZbin videos and see what you like best :)

Mike Sanchez I still have the car yeah. Flowmaster super 10 is gonna be the loudest you can get but yeah the it should get louder (and nicer) if you do that

going into your muffler is the stock sized 2.25 or 2.50? or does that short distance even matter? the Super 10 comes 2.50 "in" to 2.25 "out"? was wondering

Jared Sullivan the right super 10 is single 2.5 in and dual 2.25 out yes, the piping gets wider to 2.5 right near the muffler entrance so that’s why it will work, then you stick your 2.25” from the other side of the muffler all the way out back

Shawn Sharma anything you do I would just keep the resonators on taking them off is how you get a bunch of drone and makes it alot louder, just swapping out the muffler (and even the pipes) and keeping resos should keep it pretty quiet inside. That being said, you never know how it'll sound for sure 100% until you actually try it

I have another question lol. Which one is the muffler and which one is the reso? I'm questioning myself again lol. I want to swap out the muffler for a Flowmaster, keep the reso, and do a nice tip in the back. I can't figure out how I would keep the resos and have a Y pipe if I chose to do that, though. The reso is pretty much right in the back though so Idk what to do.

The muffler is in the middle and resos are near the rear. Pretty sure that wouldn't be a problem as long as you just find space where the resos fit

Protocol 1 I personally have the single in dual out with 2 pipes coming out from the muffler, either way should be similar though, the air flow will have pretty much the same travel path either way. I have the 2 coming from the muffler because it was just easy to connect 2 separate pipes and have them go straight out back

I got it all through a local performance shop, muffler and tips can be ordered online and the dual piping my shop had and they did the installations for me.

Mark Perez I'd take off the resonators and change the muffler to a sound you like, don't think straight pipe will be any better because the muffler is what adds the nice sound (not just loud like straight pipe)

Kellen Jackson Putting an R/T exhaust on the V6 will lose some low end power because the pipes are a bit bigger and were made for the HEMI not the V6. Sounds good but you do lose some power. Custom duals are the way to go
