Before you start investing, it's crucial to understand the basics of investing, different asset classes (stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.), and the associated risks. are you investing for retirement, buying a home, or building an emergency fund? Your goals will help shape your investment strategy.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Diversification means spreading your investments across different asset classes (stocks, bonds, real estate) and within those classes (different companies or industries). This helps reduce risk.

I Invest in low-cost index funds or ETFs that track broad market indices, such as the S&P 500. These funds offer diversification across a wide range of stocks and can be a more passive, low-maintenance investment option. They are suitable for investors who prefer a hands-off approach and want exposure to the overall market.

I've shuffled through investment coaches and yes, they can be positively impactful to an individual's portfolio, but do your due diligence to find a coach with grit, one that withstood the 08' crash. For me, Vivian Jean Wilhelm turned out to be better and smarter than all the advisors I ever worked with till date, I’ve never met anyone with as much conviction.

Absolutely! Wealth is made in bear markets. We aren’t in a bear market, but nibbling heavy red days has proven to be fruitful for me over 9 years of investing. I am at 2.25 mil. Biggest positions PLTR, TSLA, SCHD, NVDA, and now looking to build up DRGO alongside finding quality value/growth stocks to buy. I got $48k divs last year in taxable divs. Q2 taxable divs this year was $17,388 this year. Don't sell when the market is down. Having a skilled CFA that puts the time in to do in-depth research can be invaluable in strategizing your portfolio.

(not a spam comment) I used to live paycheck to paycheck. Then i stopped being an alcoholic and got my mind right. First thing i did before i worried about my 401k was open a separate savings account under ky kid's names and started putting $50 a paycheck in there. I dont want to take money from my kids. Therefore its truly an emergency savings account. Once a few months went by and i didn't miss the $50 every week i took another $50 more and started buying low cost ETFs. After a few more months i started boosting my 401k. At the end of the year i had several thousand saved. That gave me the confidence to really cut out everything i didn't need for expenses, pay off my debt and switch jobs. I make over 100k a year now, no debt, invest half of everything i make and im well over six figures in net worth. And i did it in three years.

He invested 15% of his income. He bought a reasonable house with a small mortgage, then aggressively paid it off. OK, but what year did he buy his house? If he bought it right after the 2008 real estate collapse he would have been buying for pennies on the dollar. That was also a time when interest rates were low and people were able to get sub 3% mortgages. I think mine is 2.8% or something. I'm not saying that's what he did, I don't know......but it's a key piece of information to have. In 2010 that was an amazing plan to become a millionaire. Right now average houses are almost a half a million dollars, unless you want to live in the hood with the crack dealers. Today, everything costs a grip and you need to find a way to get your income up. 50K isn't going to cut it in 2024.

That’s extremely basic advice. Average salary is $50k/year in the U.S. Investing in a 401k and paying off your house is going to take around 30 years. And by then money won’t be worth shit with the inflation we’re getting. A million dollars today is middle class.

It is. And that’s very comfy. Like that first 10K, it is an engine to 100K. After hitting $1M (not that long ago), savings have grown in giant steps. Owning a home is an integral part of that savings path. Try it instead of poopooing in a vacuum.

this is also why Dave talks about generational wealth. Not many people compared to the total american population can make it to the 1% without help. You make your situation better. Help your kids while doing some good. Your kids hit your peak at an earlier age and reach higher. If no one develops a drug habit or has 15 kids in one generation, your lineage should be more successful each generation.

owning a house will not make a millionaire because its a lyability not incum you have to rent it and cash flo for it to be asset 😂😂🤮🤮🛑🛑

That’s not even close to correct. When you have a mortgage it’s both an asset and a liability. As you slowly get rid of the mortgage is just an Asset/Equity and that asset hopefully goes up in value. Technically, you probably won’t make money if you don’t rent it out but you should be able to save a ton of money as opposed to renting
