Dropper post is the best upgrade to do. I set my Vitus Nucleus up for XC and the dropper completely transforms the bike. Only downside is once the seat is out the way, I start riding the bike like I ride my full-sus enduro rig, which gets a bit sketch 😅
@Serby6653 жыл бұрын
What was preventing you from stopping before the rough downhill part, putting it down, then getting it back up once you are done and back to normal?
@Synysterjmz3 жыл бұрын
@@Serby665 the fact that I can adjust the seat to the ideal hight during the ride, without having to stop, get off and lose all momentum/ get in the way of other riders/ ruin section time. You're missing the point of a dropper post if you think it's just a lazy way of adjusting the seat from a fixed position.

I know man! I was at a bike park on a rented Slayer. After 5 hours, rode my own bike back to the house. Decided to detour a bit via a path. Rock garden coming up. 1/2 second before dropping in my brain tells me "dude youre not on that full sus bike anymore just so you know" 😂

I love my hardtail. Although it's mainly due to budget. I'm running an older 2017 Nukeproof scout frame I build from frame up with second hand or slightly more affordable Deore level components. It still works great for the trails I do and saved a lot of money too.
@flemming_j_3 жыл бұрын
Hardtails are the bomb, riding an Airdrop Bitmap my self. 30mm rims, 27.5x2.6" Michelin´s, 150mm Fork, Dropper 150mm, Saint brakes w.200/180mm disc´s :D
@brendonnoble52273 жыл бұрын
If you want to widen your bars a bit, put on some lock on grips with the clamp on the inside. Then slide them out so that you have 2cm overhang on each side, 40mm wider bars for no extra cost. Also you can spray builders foam into your bars for extra damping and warranty voiding.

i ride a commencal meta ht 2020 in a mullet setup with shimano saint brakes 203/180, spank 350 wheels , maxxis minion dhr 2 2.4" rear and assegai 2.5" front, rock shox lyrik select 150 mm, crankbrothers mallet dh clipless pedals, e thirteen 180 mm dropper, revers 35mm stem and one up components bar, sram nx 12speed drivetrain it costs about 3000$ and in my opinion it rips much better then a full supension bike for 3k and everyone who rides it love this thing. I ride it most of the time in the bikepark and enduro parks and never wished to be on a differnt bike. And yes i ride from time to time some double black diamond trails and it is perfekt. I think a hardcore hardtail is also a great teacher because you learn to read the ground if you wanna go fast with one of these. By the way it is Blake's fault that i ride, love, breathe and life Hardtails.

Love dis man! I’ve just finished transforming my entry level Giant Fathom E+3 29er commuter hardtail into a semi hardcore ht and (even if I say it myself) I just love the finished product. I just wish I had the money to go FULL HARDCORE but hey ho, you cut your cloth. Can’t believe you didn’t mention the drivetrain. I went from a 9speed no clutch Deore to a 10sp XT clutch deraileur and a front crank with a narrow wide profile and the difference in performance was night and day. PS : I’m now seriously thinking of running a Tannus Armour insert on the front as well as the rear. These I run with self sealing tubes because I’m ole Skool hardcore and that’s how we rolled back in the day. Hardcore hardtail till I die! 😈🙏😈

I bet there is a kid somewhere in this world who just watched this video and borrowing a friend's 160+mm fork to install it on his 10+ years old 26er xc bike. I haven't heard anything about frame geometry and build, for it to cope with a big fork and the abuse which comes with it. I mean yes, the wheel size does not matter that much, but I would not have the courage to install a 160mm fork on my 2008 Merida xc race frame. It is a 1500g aluminum frame designed for 80-100mm travel upfront. I can hear the headtube separating from the rest of the bike just by thinking of it.
