How to make your INFINITI Q50/Q60 3.0T fast??

Hi all... I'm just here to throw you Infiniti guys some respect. I recently bought a stock C6 Corvette Grand Sport and a few days ago I got challenged on the street by a guy in a modded Q50 (don't know HOW modded, but he definitely has a LOUD exhaust). I wasn't familiar with the car and what kind of power it's capable of making, so I assumed I would walk him easily... but that was so NOT the case! He was right behind me on a 2-lane highway... I nailed it and so did he... and he hung right with me. We were approaching a residential area, so we shut it down. I gave him a big thumbs-up and turned into my subdivision. I was just doing a little research on the Q50 3.0 and now I see why! They're capable of making some serious power! Nice cars too. Awesome sleepers. Enjoy!

@@KG3three A stock q60 weighs 600 pounds more and has 130+ less horsepower than a corvette grand sport. Even a q60 400 red sport has less hp and tq and is much heavier than a corvette grand sport and would lose if stock. They can beat a stock corvette if they have mods but not stock.

Test drove a stock used red sport a few months ago and thought it was a beast for a stock and almost pulled trigger but sales didn’t go thru as plan. You can upgrade the compessor and turbine of your stock turbos for more high end. Send them into a company that upgrades them. 600whp should be doable with fbo, e85 and upgraded turbos

Well these are bolt on mods. You can get a different camshaft, bore the heads, bigger pistons, newer valves to compensate and you'll be in the 800whp

Hey bro. New to the channel. I test drove a 2017 Q60 Rs400 and also a Q60ss. I am absolutely in love with this car. Heres the question that u have, which model/trim should I go with. The RS400 was stock and was AWD and felt like a beast and the Q60ss was RWD and previous owner had some work done to it and it was fast! Is there really much of a difference? I definitely want a 3.0t. Your opinion which one should I search for? Thanks bro!

I agree 100%. A plan is VERY important. As you know I am a Fast Intentions fan boy. Don't skimp on your exhaust system. Don't mix components in your exhaust as they are all designed to work together. My full catted downpipes, resonated X-pipe and CBE was the best bang for the buck, AMS heat exchanger too. EcuTec tune I almost did not get because the full exhaust system bump in power was so good by itself. But ended up getting it done. A huge change! All I would add to your list are lighter rims and Z1 two piece brake rotors. For a savings on my car of 78 lbs. (Unsprung rotational mass). I could feel the difference immediately. Lead time on my monoblock rims and FI exhaust was LONG, so order ASAP if that's the way you plan on going. You and I have almost exactly the same mods. I have not done the drive shaft yet. I plan on staying on pump gas so I may go to AMS to have them install the larger turbos when they become available. (RS 600) Like you I also preordered my catch can. IMHO another must have. If I drive out to AMS on my way to Marquette MI this summer maybe we can meet. Thanks again for another great informative video! 👍👍

Been subbed to your channel for a while, you have some really great and useful content. I'm wondering if you think just ecutek tune and heat exchanger would cause any issues. My car is a 2018 Q50 RS so trying to avoid any warranty issues. I might do LDP's and exhaust, too, but def want to upgrade the heat exchanger and either JB4 or Ecutek. I know a tune will stress the engine and turbos more...not planning to race it, just want more power.

If you want just a tad more without worrying issues just do Jb4 and heat exchanger but a tune will change your life. Thank you for supporting

Thoughts on Fast Intentions High Flow Cats Full Downpipes? I am a potato to the car mod world and honestly a bit scared to remove the cats. Also, I recently got the lux model 3.0t would you recommend any suspension modes prior to maximizing engine performance? Can you do a video on tires? Had a 2014 Q50S, and what turned me off was the crappy handling and DAS! Was trying to hold out for Red Sport, but with delays I switched to BMW. Has it improved since 2014? Stock.

Wait I've seen plenty of Q50s with about the same hp and torque as yours but after 5k rpms the line drops down to like 330 hp and and 360 torque the ams driveshaft really fixes that?

Driveshaft doesn’t fix that. That’s OEM turbos being so small and then inefficient. That graph was just good tuning

3.7 best for daily and still faster then a 3.0 stock, but if you want cheap and fast gains the 3.0 is for you. can get 100-150 hp easily

It’s reliable but know it won’t be a perfect car. - complete on schedule maintenance - do preventive maintenance - change your oil - know your belt will fly off at some point lol - don’t go too crazy with the mods. 450whp/500wtq seems to be the cut off for a safe realizable car
