Guys I had the same problem and I'm so so happy that I think I cracked the solution. At first I also thought that my fingers wouldn't fit in with a cup inside it, but today I took courage, breathed in and pushed the cup a bit higher so that it wouldn't block the opening. I had already checked where and how high my cervix was so I had an idea. After clearing the opening by pushing the cup a bit higher I managed to insert my pointer finger starting from the right side and just kept sliding it to the left because I knew that the problem was somewhere in the front

I would recommend trying triangle fold for beginners. I tried to insert it by using c fold but it hurts a lot due to wide surface area.

Funny thing is, all other folds seem tricky and won’t open, C fold is the only one that’s opening for me but it’s hard to keep a grip on it I feel like cups aren’t for me and that’s just disappointing:(

It is hard to get it open in beginning. I recommend rotating the cup slowly inside you after insertion. It tends to open up easily with time. And try moving up down opening legs wide, this will definitely open cup for you. Patience is key with cup use. It takes about 3-4 cycles to somewhat get it right.

I have been trying everything possible with my cup to open and on my last period I accidentaly tryed something that is making my cup open every single time on the first try- put it in your favorite fold, insert HALF way- so half of the cup is still outside of your vulva. Release it and wiggle it to open. Now just pust it by the pin inside to the place where you place it usually. It is much easyer to let it open while it is still partially outside so you can play with it with fingers. Hope it helps ❤

I've tried 6 menstrual cups and I believe my body just isn't made for cups, however, I have been using a menstrual disc for a few cycles now and it's amazing! You don't have to make sure it pops open and you don't have to break a seal to take it out. The only "downside" is it can be a bit messy to remove, but I do it in the shower so it's no problem for me, I hope I helped someone :)

I can't rach the top of the cup when it's inserted. There isn't enough rokm for my fingers to go anywhere. It just feels like it's folded, and i can't even get my finger past the bottom to help it unfold. I have been told i have a very tight spot but dang. I got rhe smallest cup. Ugh, I've tried everything. Pushing the cup higher, trying to press the fold to open it up, twisting the cup but it will just not open! I'm using a flex up in the smallest size and I love it bc my arms/fingers aren't long enough to reach a regular cup so I need that string to tug it out. It sounds like you need a long, but narrow cup. If the cup diameter is too big, it will not be able to pop open, no matter how much you play around with it. Rotating your cup in a circular motion can help it open, but it could be that your cup is too big. If you size down it would create more room for the cup to open all the way and create a seal. Do you have a Pixie Cup?

I did try to insert on one of my normal days, and when I tried to pull it down then, it didnt come out (I think it was properly sealed). so what i did for everyone still struggling after watching this is i found that i had to stop being scared of actually going inside there. once it’s in you have to actually put your fingers inside and just keep playing around with the base of it. twist it a little 360 slowly, pull it back and forth (holding the base not stem!) until you feel the dent go away. it took me an hour and i was crying lol just don’t give up & actually grip a good bit of the base. the c fold may feel too wide but it really it easiest to get it to open up. try it in the shower or wet your vag and the cup with water to help another tip: push your vagina a bit once it’s inside to allow the cup to go further down a little so you can actually get that grip. this also helps when removing it.

It depends on how high your cervix is! Some cups have longer stems or more of a longer, slim shape which may be easier to reach to release the suction. Generally, if you can't get your cup to pop open you should try a cup with a slightly smaller diameter. Put A Cup In It has a great comparison chart with measurements that could help you find a longer, but smaller cup!

In my first periods I didn't had any issue but in my second periods the menstrual cup doesn't open properly every time I insert it so it starts leaking. I usually use punch down fold but I tried c fold also still the issue remains. If you have a high cervix, you do want something with a longer stem or a longer cup so that is easy enough to reach. That being said, a cup cannot "get lost" inside, it just may take more effort to remove. If a cup doesn't open easily you may need a cup with a smaller diameter or you may want to try something like our Disc with the long stem!

I am only able to insert with the least resistance using the punch fold. So, yeah, I just couldn't make it pop like it's supposed to. :(

I'm having the same issue as some of the ladies here in the comments: my fingers are not long enough to reach the lip of the lid once inserted nor vaginal opening big enough to fit more than one finger in there at a time once the cup is in there. I've been to the Dr multiple times about the small size of my vaginal canal but there's nothing I can do about it unless I want to walk around with a stretcher (pretty much a dildo given by OBGYN) in me all the time... Which I can't do that so I'm at a loss. People have told me to use the smaller, slimmer cups & I've got 2 brands already but they still have issues opening & I'm a heavy bleeder at that. I just need a miracle. Anyone have any suggestions? My daughter is nearing starting her period for the first time & I want to give her sustainable & healthy options that I know work & so far I can't get cups to work!

@@KayLeiCol We'd recommend trying our Slim Large or Slim Small! (Or the Slim Combo which has both sizes) They are more of a Slim Shape, and sit lower in the vaginal canal. They are also made of a softer silicone than most others on the market.

I don't know much about this company, but you can email them to see if the cup made from 100% medical grade silicone. If it is completely medical-grade silicone, the cup should be good. However, I do not know much about his company.
