You have such a gentle, soothing voice. I love how you encourage us to try things and learn and embrace the fun side of art. As an adult, I look back on how easy it was to create art as a kid vs now when I pressure myself to create something perfect. You always remind me to embrace my inner child and just sculpt.

Thank youuuu!!😊 And yes, it does seem a lot easier to create as a kid, and I’m finding a playful spirit now is both helpful for creating at all and also for creating more realistic horses, like there’s a good friendship between play and perfection when I make room for both in my own process.

YOUR CHANNEL, though ❤! I love how encouraging you are, and how willing you are to give tips and hints. Watched this one before bed, and it relaxed me, and inspired me, lol. Now to sleep, but then to CREATE:

@@CreativeKristenTaylor we have been talking! I bought the super sculpy, and i'm currently making a medaillion. I find it hard to make the depth but I just need to start. Thank you

This is amazing and absolutely something I would've loved to have when I started! Horses are so fun to sculpt and there don't seem to be a lot of videos covering the process. You are an inspiration and I am hoping to some day have learned enough to also make the videos I wish had been there when I first tried to get into sculpting.

Awww, thank you so much 😊 And yes, there’s so many wonderful horse sculptors out there and I would love to see more people sharing glimpses into their artwork, studio, or just entertaining vids about their art. There’s so much room for people to make their own content of all sorts. And yesssss, give it a try sometime! I think there’s even more room for digital equine artists to share their stories!

Thank you so much for sharing this information and resources! I remember taking the Sculpting 101 workshop by Morgan Kilbourn at BreyerFest ten years ago. I still happen to have the sculpture I was working on back then. Maybe it's time for me to revisit my old project? 😅

Happy to help, and ooooh, yes, that would be a fun project to revisit! Dooooo it!

Thank you! I definitely want to give it a try! I would love to get into casting but getting a big enough pressure pot and hollow casting seems daunting, but I pretty much only work in 1:9 😅

Yussssss, try it sometime! And aww, yeah, I’m experiencing the same as I sculpt my first 1/9 horse and realizing it might be too big to mold for my pressure pot if I want a couple copies😅 I may have to get creative if I’m going to duplicate that one at all

So as far as I'm aware you're going to make more animal sculpures other than horses right? Are the extinct ones somwhere in the schedule too? Just asking.
@CreativeKristenTaylor5 ай бұрын
Yup! I have a couple more horse videos in the works and then I’ll be back to other animals, and yes, I have some ideas for extinct animals too 😉

Aww, sometimes they just go through an “ugly phase” before they look like what we want. I’ve got one right now that I’ve been trying to sculpt for months and it’s only just now coming out of its ugly phase and looking like the horse I want. And sometimes they never do, but even those projects always help train your eye and that makes the next ones even better! So they’re all kind of beautiful, in that way. Stick with it!!! It’s worth it!
