This was a wonderful video and showed something I was unaware of. This makes our decision easier. We will go with standard Bromptons and upgrade them to electric later at our leisure, this is a way better solution and if we (I) do the upgrade, I can maintain and fix it later. Not to mention we could always put it back to the original Brompton bike status if necessary. Great video, great content, and excellent editing. Just the right amount of detail and color commentary and yes, thanks for saving us from the flipping unboxing crap (no one cares).

After my bad experience with Nano I converted a Brompton to electric myself. I do own a factory Brompton Electric, but I think I prefer the one I built. I saved a ton over the overpriced Nano package. I used Bosch batteries that I had on the shelf.

After watching your video I spent more time researching Nano and decided to order one. However the company representative turned nasty very quickly when I mentioned her service was slow. I mean really nasty. I'd like to compare her to the Seinfeld episode where the soup nazi says no soup for you at the slightest wrong move. Well luckily that helped me dodge the bullet as it were. I'm so glad I saw the companies true colors immediately. God help you if you ever had a real issue. I further checked on alternatives and found that all this is easily available on ebay or aliexpress. I was advised (by a highly qualified bike shop) to stick to conversion kits that use the AKM motor. I'm also going to save about 600 dollars.

people forget, these kits do not have pressure sensor's so the riding experience is different. The Brompton electric has a pressure sensor bottom bracket so it rides with the sort of feeling and response of a mid-drive. These kits run off of cadence sensoring (rotation of wheels)

You have put a spacer in the BB, so will need to righten the left side (left crank needs to come off for that), or it will be loose. Around 9:00

This is really cool, I was thinking the same just getting a conversion kit and doing it myself. makes my decision and saves me easily about 2k. Get a standard brompton and upgrade to electric.

I didn’t get that. This kit is £1799 and if u add the price of the bike itself on top u won’t be saving money. Why go through all this when it will cost u the same to just go and buy an electric Brompton under warranty and everything?

most people convert an already owned bike to eV not go and purchase a new bike to convert it. Even then you can retro fit any cheap ev bike conversion onto a brompton, quite easily, just need to find one that matches the wheel size. overall would still be cheaper than buying the E bromtpon. not to mention e brompton did not exist a few years back. If you want to shell out $4k for a new e bromtpon thats fine too. It gets you nice features and neatly intergrated system. Warranty is only 2 years on the electrical which is wack. And thats because I promise you the underpowered electrical kit brompton offers will last much longer than that. Not to mention almost all of the little scooters you see around use a similar 250 w motor. Shit you can even buy a little bag and make a battery that gives you way more range and power if your gonna spend another 1.5k for the e brompton. But again not everyone knows or wants to DIY it. if thats the case go get yourself a E Brompton.

Thanks for showing us a new variety of Brompton electrification :-) I opted out of the Brompton electric because it's prohibitively expensive for what you're getting in my personal opinion. With the European standards there can't be a dedicated throttle for additional versatility and as you say The Limited battery range. And if I were to take it on a flight you can't get your own batteries that are small enough for TSA to accept... I'm going to do some research and see if I can find small enough batteries to just have a couple dinky batteries with this kit :-) thank you

I bought my 20 from Amazon. Just make sure it’s the right voltage and the plug is the same and get the biggest battery if you want.

BROMPTON ELECTRIC. "THE WORLDS MOST UNRELIABLE BIKE".. Both of my Electric Brompton"s continuously keep braking down. The poor quality bearings & electronics keep failing. Brompton knows about this. But just keeps replacing them with same the parts. Buy yourself several Chines copies for the same price. Or better still a Honda CBR 125cc motorcycle for the same price. Feel less disappointed & save yourself a fortune.
