I actually used this method on my engagement ring during the few weeks before I was able to have it resized. I would say this method is great for rings you don't wear all the time as the glue will fall off after a few washes with soap and water!

There is a KZbin video that actually shows how to cut your ring and file the ends so it’s smooth. I guess you bend it together but hey it works! Worth a try.

No, this is not a permanent solution. The glue will eventually wear off with sweat/water but you can peel off the glue and reapply.

I *would* try this but my ring (the only one I wear at all times) is from my memaw, I got it after she died and I love it too much to do something that could damage it. lol I'll just stick with a slightly wiggly ring. I'm a size 7 1/2 it fits a lil better on my middle finger than my ring finger I'll survive

I have a beautiful ring from Amazon but it’s a little big for me and it’s not qualify to return. I went to a jeweler and read that you could put a layer of silicone glue on the inside of the ring. Well bought some glue $7, and tried that. Messy and worked for about 5 minutes, then the glue came off. I then stripped some insulation from some small electrical wire, split it and glued it on with the silicone but the glue didn't hold long. I then super glued it on and that worked. This took a lot of trial and error. This worked great keeping the ring upright but it was uncomfortable! It is rather hard material. So I ordered this product, now I had to pull off the super glued insulation and put some of this on. Goes on very easily, just get it started and then twist it, it screws right on. I screwed on about half an inch and with the remainder dangling had her try on the ring. Whoops a little too much, had to get out the vaseline and grease my finger to get the ring off. Unscrewed a little of the rubber, cut off the excess and wahla it works. I wore the ring all day, it is very comfortable. The stuff is very soft and rubbery. So thats the tale of the ring that wouldn't. I would recommend this products to all who need it.

Great advice! I’ve also used rubberizing liquid (think Flex Seal or Rustoleum Rubberized Undercoating), which works alright, but takes a lot longer to layer up to fill the gap. I feel like marrying the two techniques could be an amazing approach! Also, kudos on the clear polish-always a great idea for new rings you might not trust, and it probably helps the hot glue stay put, at least a little. Maybe using the tacky, rubberized primer nail coat could be enough to prevent tarnish and slippage for rings that are just slightly too big, for instance, in the winter when our fingers are less swollen!
