I have been doing it the difficult way before. Thank you for this video!

I have spent 4 hours trying to name a waypoint. very difficult. Also, can not edit them. I sent the message to Foreflight that they need to fix this.

There is a slightly easier way to do this and you don’t need the course. Just use an offset. The main difference is you need to work backwards. After you have your first and last points entered for your flight plan, select your last waypoint or arrival airport, select “more” and then select “Along-Track Offset”. Then just enter the previous waypoint distance from this point. Continue this with each waypoint. Plotted course will remain a completely straight line.

15 before 20 before 10 before 15 before "Airport" - if you can handle that taking up your whole flight plan without the intention of naming every waypoint then that is a solid shortcut otherwise it is quite a bit of clutter in your flight plan box.

I tried your alternate method, and FF still rounds up or down by a degree. FF was not designed for this but these little hacks get a student pilot close enough to get the job done well within the parameters of the ACS.

I've been wondering about this issue of adding waypoints without making the course all screwy!! Thx!!

@@SafetyPilotOfficialMy Foreflight does not let me make custom waypoints Easily. Been spending 4 hours. No help from Foreflight except some incorrect instructions to edit a way point. Paper charts are so much easier.
@KimWentworth-y8e6 ай бұрын
Also, Foreflight has no underscore, it only has a dash. So have no idea where you are getting this information from because I have two ipads with foreflight both do not do this or can add or edit custom waypoints unless you use a complicated way to do it.
@KimWentworth-y8e6 ай бұрын
No, it does not do that at all. You must have special version or an older version of Foreflight. They took this feature away.

Any idea why when I tap my starting point, nothing opens up on my ipad?

The problem Is you can not name your waypoints and you can not edit them. I Sent an E-mail to Text support at Forelfight and they gave me instructions that does not exit in Foreflight. New pilots and student pilots should only use paper charts.
@KimWentworth-y8e6 ай бұрын
You can not rename you waypoints. Again, you can not re-name your waypoints.

By the time I finished planning, the route was not straight. The last point to the destination was 6 degrees different. I’ve watched this video multiple times. But I don’t see what I’m doing wrong.
