@VideoPlastyOfficial4 жыл бұрын
It must mean that somewhere on the audio track you have a part that peaks really high, as this shouldn't be happening. Try this: - Normalize (as the last step) - Hard Limit at -4dB (I don't remember exactly, but this could have been an external plugin you have to install - it's free) - Normalize again Let me know if this works!

It's hard to diagnose just from that. Maybe you accidentally changed some settings. It's mostly trial and error, but play around with the Remove Noise step a few times until you get it right. You've done it once, you can do it again!

BTW , for me Noise reduction will not work after I do the other effect on it .. so what I did is : 1) Compressor . 2)Equalization Bass & Treble . 3) Normalize . 4) Here I do the Noise reduction part and I increased the " Noise Reduction (dB) to 18 " works like charm . thanks again bro !
@VideoPlastyOfficial5 жыл бұрын
First of all, not all audio is the same, so the process of editing audio has to be flexible and adapted to each situation. So if you found something that works for you, I'm happy to hear! That being said - I would still strongly suggest that you try and do the noise reduction as the first step, that's when it is the most accurate. Otherwise, you will edit the noise too with compression, equalize, etc. and make it more difficult to remove later. But again, if the final result is good and it works for you, that's all that matters!

Could be multiple factors. Hard to troubleshoot in YT comments. Play around with the background noise removal until you get it right. If you still can't after sampling a very good portion of silence of 3-4s (with BG noise only), then it could very well be the quality of the microphone.

Nice. Thanks for that. Now I've just done a 7 second test recording of a Spike Milligan poem and put it out to some Facebook Groups in two versions. If you're interested the links are: neillmackenzie.com/Test1.wav neillmackenzie.com/Test2.wav Can you tell the difference? By the way, I use the Blue Yeti too. Can you provide your Audacity settings you for PRE--recordings too. Appreciated.
@VideoPlastyOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Hi Neil - that's great! I just listened with headphones and the difference is very obvious, v2 sounds much better! Now, of course, there's no perfect "one size fits all" solution, so if you want even more out of it you can keep playing with the effects. For example, you can boost the bass and the treble a bit more by moving the line even higher when applying the effect to see how that sounds Also, a bonus part that you can use is after all previous effects have been applied, you can use a Hard Limiter Effect at like -4dB, then do a Normalize again which should amplify the whole thing as much as possible without peaking and while keeping everything else constant, to bring out more richness out of it. Especially with a Blue Yeti. As for the "prerecording settings" - I don't have anything like that, I just use the Blue Yeti on cardioid mode, open Audacity and do these simple post production steps
@neillmack5 жыл бұрын
@@VideoPlastyOfficial That's great Eduard thanks for the extra information about the settings. 90% of the people who took part in my test said that #2 was better than #1. I'm fairly new to voice over work and am having a heck of a time figuring out the editing aspect of it. I have watched countless "experts" on KZbin show me how to apply and adjust the Noise Reduction, Compressor, EQ, Limiter, etc. ALL of it pretty much sounded like crap. My actual voice acting is good, but my voice was not being captured properly. I have good mid-range (for now) equipment, sound booth, etc. It all came down to not getting the proper tutorials. What if I’m recording in obs do I have to record these at the same time? Do I have to mute myself in obs and play the voice audio on audacity? I am really confused please help.
@VideoPlastyOfficial5 жыл бұрын
I've never used OBS, but I know it's a recording software, which I think people use for gameplay footage. There would be two options: 1) RECOMMENDED - Record both in OBS and Audacity. You need the one in OBS to be able to synchronise it with the audio from Audacity, as you won't hit record at the exact same time. You edit the one in Audacity to make it sound cooler, then mute the original one in OBS. 2) Record just in OBS. Then export WAV from the video you made. Import into Audacity, do the audio editing, save again, then replace the audio on the timeline of your editor with the one that's edited and sounds nicer (delete/mute original audio track). They will match perfectly in length. Not recommended as you might lose some quality due to compression of original video recording in OBS (unless you can save audio as uncompressed). I would go with Option 1, but you are likely not going to notice any difference on either one
