I’m about to make my first mini NCW, so I decided to watch this again. It’s so fun to hear you talk about having children on this video knowing that you just had Dorothy last month. ❤️

If you have a quilting ruler, use the 60 degree angle pushed against the inside to mark on the side flaps for where to pinch them, makes it way easier and gets them perfect every time

Sew fun! I just don’t think my juki 2200 would handle this... no matter how badly I want to make it.

can you just use cotton fabric for both main fabric and lining? And what interfacing would you then use?
@LaurenMormino4 жыл бұрын
Of course! I’d use a combo of 809 and wovenfuse

Hi Lauren, is the small ncw in with the large ncw pdf. I'm asking before buying. I have a couple of wallets I need to make for some customers and they just said any type wallet but I like the ncw of what I've seen. Also, can it be made with a leather backing and a suede lining? Also one more thing, how and can you make it a zip around closure.
@LaurenMormino5 жыл бұрын
It’s an additional purchase for the mini. I’ve not made it a zip around but have seen tutorials. I’ve heard good things about the classic zip around by Maggy55!

Lauren, would adding just a rivet to the sides work best without the stitching, I think it would be strong enough to hold or do you think stitching would the better choice? Thanks for the information. Tammy

Lauren, I don't know if you check old posts, but you just brought up the exact question I wanted to ask you. I currently own the Juki 98Q for regular sewing. I am going to buy an industrial to start making bags. I was looking at the Juki DNU 1541, but your last comment about a cylinder machine would make life easier. After owing your 1181, would you recommend a cylinder?
@LaurenMormino6 жыл бұрын
I also have a cylinder arm machine and have a LOT of issues with it, but that's because I had my 1181N first. Most cylinder arms CAN be adapted to have a flat bed. So it's really up to what you think would work best for you!

I was just wondering how you interface the body of your mini NCW when using quilting cottons?
@LaurenMormino6 жыл бұрын
I use wovenfuse, or SF101 along with 809, or decovil light, and Peltex, or decovil heavy. These are substitutes for eachother. I add SF101 to the outside flap, then a piece of 809 to the outside flap. repeat for the underside then add the peltex! I really like a sturdy flap!
