Your detailed, specific, technical knowledge and skill in all of this and other things that your have built and renovated is SUPERB. I like your happy smile at the end of your vids when you have completed your tasks. It would be great if you or somebody like you was here in Bardstown, Ky. You would do very well. You could teach our lost woke youth in this country a thing or too with your World Class Work Ethic. Well, thanks for sharing this with us across the "pond" Ling. Always a pleasure to watch you at your craft and looking forward to seeing some more. Well take care. Sincerely from Gabriel S.

Voller Respekt

Hi Lin - (Sorry for such a long message, I hope Google Translate will work ok for you with it…) I *love* your videos! I share your pleasure in taking something old or broken and making it work again - but don’t have the time in my own life these days to do it very much. I love watching you do it though, and your smiles at the end always make me smile myself :-) I’m a (semi-retired) electrical engineer myself, but my schooling was all about electronic circuits, so I have no background in power generation. This makes your rebuilding of generators and motors especially interesting to me! (Generators most of all - I feel like I understand motors somewhat, but I’ve realized there’s a lot about generators that I don’t understand, even though they’re basically just motors being used in the “other direction”.) I liked the extra explanation in this video very much, but would like you to go even further. I think there are a lot of people like me who would like more technical explanations, and I think the non-engineers in your audience wouldn’t mind there being a few parts that they don’t understand. (And there might be many people for whom the added technical detail might encourage them to try doing it themselves, maybe even making a job for themselves repairing motors and generators :-) I had never thought before about how many different ways there might be to wind a generator (!) Sometimes you prepare all the coils to be the same size, other times they are different sizes. This time, it looked like there were four groups of coils, with three sizes in each set, nested inside each other. Why is that? I thought the coils would always be overlapping each other, instead of being stacked up like that. I also had never known about harmonic windings before. I’ve googled it some, but need to read more to understand; I’m still confused. It seems like they help make a smoother waveform when the generator is under load(?) - Or is it they help make a better waveform when it’s running under very light load? I never realized how complex generators were. - I guess they are like most things in engineering: simple in concept, but complicated when you start considering all the real-world second- and third-order effects. Anyway, apologies for such a long message, I hope you can read it ok. (And it will be ok for me if you reply in Chinese, I’ll just use Google to translate it on my end) Thanks again so much for your videos, they’re my favorite ones on KZbin these days! 😍 PS: Your name is Linguoer. I think that means that Lin is your family name, and Guoer is your first name. Is that correct? - So should I have said “hi Guoer” above?
