I’ve seen a few other construction/woodworking videos that have used this jig before and some have even taught how to make it but none I’ve seen have shown me how to USE it! I would have failed miserably the first time if I hadn’t been told to tilt the jig toward the direction you want to mark so the pencil remains snug in its place. Thank you, Leah. You’re the kind of teacher that should live forever.

+livelogikal so what you're insinuating is that creating a jig or "tooling up" for a process that needs to be done over and over is useless? Also, you state you could have measured the center of countless boards, what about marking those boards? Maybe you should learn how to make the jig quicker, "in the time it takes to make this", you can't be serious? Run along with your negative self!!! 😂😂😂😂
@VCGConstruction7 жыл бұрын
livelogikal you used to fabricate custom speaker boxes? 🤣🤣🤣 We'll work on getting our skills up! 🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡

livelogikal well since you dont have any video proof. You can check out our work for yourself. We stand by our work so much we can put videos up on KZbin. How about you?

livelogikal we're all about freedom of speech, but I think it's sad that trolls like yourself have a safe space like KZbin so you can spew your negative hatred, knocking real content creators like seejanedrill! Why don't you "man up" and post a video of your "custom speaker boxes" 🤣🤣🤣for all of KZbin to criticize! You won't!

Leah, I needed to mark the middle down some small pieces of decorative hardwood (spalted Silver Maple) that I want to resaw. I have quite a few pieces and it would have probably taken over an hour to mark them all with a ruler and a pencil. I made the centering jig in about 10 minutes and marking the wood took another 10 minutes. Now, I am the proud owner of some very accurately marked wood, ready to be resawn and a centering jig! Thank you so much. I bought you a few coffees to say thanks. Thanks for such a generous channel. It really means a lot to me.

Hello Leah, great video on how to construct these center finders. You are right, I see these for sale on Amazon and wonder why on Earth someone would pay 6.00 all the way to 15.00 bucks for one of these, when this jig is every bit as good. I think you would do an excellent job of some of the other measuring tips like measuring from one side of the board at 0, then taking for instance 8 inches on the ruler and moving it to the other side of the board. At 4 inches it would be dead center. Also the carpenters 3-4-5 method for determining if an area is square. Others have tutorials, but you have a very natural way of teaching that everyone can easily understand. Take care of yourself.

Leah, Thanks,... always love to see your videos. Maybe an idea for future jig building projects might be for a jig used to drill the screw holes in cabinet doors to insert the handles or pulls.... I see people trying DIY cabinet installs that have the knobs or pulls installed unevenly due to poor measuring. They spent a lot of $$ on the cabinets, installed themselves, but the finished project looks sloppy because the knobs are uneven.
