Humble man, always keen for to allow others to grow alongside himself. Thank you for not only the amazing music, but for valuable lessons on growing up. I feel you're becoming more of a mentor to me than what I used to see you for - A great producer and DJ that I wish to be as successful as one day. P.S... You've really helped me through a bunch of tough times too! Cheers Luke!

I love the mashups because they are very unique to whoever makes them, if you don't end up making your own. I've made my own mashups live because that is all I can do at the moment but what really intrigues me more is how you actually make your mashups with one track and then change it to a different track or multiple tracks, tempo pitches up/down, fade ins, etc. I can give many examples but doing it live it's easier because you bring out the low end from the track you want to fade/drop into and as it gets closer you bring the EQ low end from the main track out as the other one comes in and the low end is all the way in by the time of the new drop. I've replicated many mashups I've heard on live sets, podcasts, etc. But intrigued on how those more complex mashups are done, where you have it all on one channel and not a different track on different channels to pull it off. Thanks Luke! Hope you see this and end up talking about it in the future.

Still doesn't explain nor answer the question. Valiant effort though!
@blackoutkiller
@blackoutkiller 7 жыл бұрын
Because I left out the can you explain part. Was that it? Anyone with could read that and realize oh this is intriguing let me touch on this. But it's ok. A question mark doesn't need to be in place to show you are asking for help. You are elaborating on what was talked about and wanting to understand a more complex side of it. Instead of asking like anyone would, I'm engaging. But when something is commented on and still doesn't explain what I'm focusing on you didn't answer what I was looking for. So to you, the question is still not answered. Thanks anyways!

Hey laidback luke. Just wanna say thanks for your videos. Your advice and tutorials have really made an impact on the way I approach my music. You have a really easy to understand way of explaining things. A lot of videos on how to produce tracks make music sound complex. But yours make it what it should be, fun. I’m living in China at the moment. Due to complex visa restrictions I can’t work in a normal job here. So by DJing I can make some money. Your videos inspire me to keep pushing on. I have been listening to your music for years but only producing for 2 years. If there is anything I can do for you or your label so you can increase your fan base in China please let me know. Thanks for the videos again. Keep putting them on here. They help us newbies more then you know. You’re a legend. Peace out brother.

for original tracks. So lets say you have Pogo by Laidback Luke which 128 BPM but then you want to play Turn Down for What by Lil John which is around 100 BPM. I would like to make Pogo transition from 128-100.

undoubtedly the best mashup tutorial available on the Internet till date and i am really very thankful for that sir! but i still have this doubt that how to make a mashup of 2 tracks with way different bpms? like an acapella of 80 bpm and the other track is 128bpm.. please it would be a great help sir 🙏
@8thlvlMage
@8thlvlMage 7 жыл бұрын
I've never tried it, but you could drop the 80bpm down to 75bpm and raise the 128bpm to 130bpm. The 75 would be half of the 130 but I honestly have no idea if it would sound decent or not. There's definitely going to be more work to it than that, but I don't know. (Like I said, never tried.)

Luke, let me tell you how inspiring you continue to be young brother. For years, I've been using FL Studios DAW to utilize a lot of the techniques your tutorial just described. It really blesses me to know that even though the DAWs are different, I'm still using the same techniques used by professionals. It gives me a sense of accomplishment, because if these are the traits and trades used by well-known DJs and producers, then I must be doing something right with my own music. Keep up the great work, Luke! One more thing, and it's important: I was sorry to learn about your separation, brother. I was almost there once, so i know how tough that experience can be. But, can I just say that...God is in the restoration business. How you two split is nobody's business. But, if you still love this woman and wish for things to be different, there's nothing the Lord cannot handle. Sometimes, you just have to fight harder with his help. Either way, you continue to be present in the lives of your kids. Happy belated Father's Day. And keep the music coming.

Hi Luke, I just watched your video and the first part had tears coming up in my eyes... I am living this situation right now as we me and my wife just decided to split up and go each on our own ways, maybe in order to revive our own love that we have lost together or maybe do definitely go or own way's. Still living under the same roof as we speak and just told the kids this morning that mummy and daddy will be away for a moment and that they will now have 2 homes (daddy has a much smaller flat a sort of barbie house, they laughed... anyway hard times, but lifes goes on i guess... the hardest will be by next week once I will be back home from work and alone in the evening, alone in the morning, no kids around, this will be the hardest... anyway time will tell... and thanks for the tutorial Big up

Hi Luke Great video and really helpful for all of us. I´ve got a problem with all of my mashups, the thing is that the volumen after bouncing them comes a little bit lower than the original, i´ve tried to put a compressor and a limiter but it still lower after bouncing. I work with FL studio so I hope you could help me to increase that volume level without distorting the sound because I´ve tried to rise the Dbs without a good results hahahahaha. Thank you so much to be an inspiration to us hope to see you soon in Spain. Take care.

what about removing the frequencies from the beat track when the vocal track goes so loud? REMOVING frequencies is actually way more important than BOOSTING them!!! because leaving room for other elements is way more important than boosting one and trying to fight a loudness war of frequencies! surprised that i didn't hear this on this video, it's actually VERY important in both producing and mashing things up!
