👋 Hey friends! Thanks for watching. What is one thing you want to MASTER in your life?

You make Mastery sound very intriguing. I was blessed to spend 25 years as a librarian in our small rural community. We have a beautiful library that serves community patrons as well as the PreK-12 school. That was definitely my Life Task, which I learned mostly through reading books and journals. Though I am retired now, I still recommend books to people...relentlessly! 😊

Great video Eddy! Very high quality and relatable content. So dense I will re-watch and take notes. I love the cuts to see the inside of your book and note-taking.

Thanks! That’s the first time I’ve done that. I’ll have to do more of it.

Great podcast topic. This inspired me to make my first purchase at Edgewater Bookstore. I totally get the need to surround yourself with books when you are working towards a new skill. As a veterinary nurse with a specialty in dentistry, I grew my library whose resources I use to this day when I am writing an article or preparing a presentation. I also did this during graduate school. I found the subjects I was studying so fascinating that I grew my library. I am a lifelong learner and search for those resources that help me towards the area I wish to learn.

Thanks! I wear them to help with headaches. I look at screens so often that the yellow lens make a pretty big difference.

What you say about YT is often correct but I must say I have learned a great deal from podcasts and interviews with experts and it provides excellent springboard material. In fact I think I read more now that before YT because I the vids have sent me down so many paths of discovery.

Yeah, there a great way to look at YT. It’s a springboard.

This is such a timely topic and one that frankly I have struggled with for some time now. I first started to really consider the subject when we read Csikszentmihalyi book, Flow, The Psychology of Optimal Experience in our book club (The Read Well Podcast Book Club) recently. In his book, he spoke about "life themes" which are a set of goals linked to an ultimate goal. I grew up thinking that my career choice was that one thing I would do for free if money was not a factor. I have found now as I've reached middle age that my ideas of what a life task should look like have changed significantly. The problem I face now is trying to narrow down all of the options available to me, especially now that I realize I am not going to be able to do everything I always wanted to do (middle age does that to us!). I need to spend more time reflecting on what one thing I want to master. I am looking forward to ordering from Edgewater Bookstore, Robert Greene's book and delving into the subject further! Thanks for the recommendation and the thought provoking podcast, Eddy!

I am just starting Mastery. Since becoming empty nesters, my role/purpose is changing and I want to figure out what that is. Homeschool parent ✔️ Library Clerk ✔️ what’s next ⁉️

The good part about this is that you know and are aware that your role is changing. That’s exciting. Good luck exploring this!
