I’m making a bear snuggler with the Yarn Bee velvet yarn and it is absolutely amazing. No shedding at all and I’ve had to frog twice. And its machine washable. Hobby lobby has it on sale all the time, so it was just $3.50 for 100 yards. I just wish they had more colors.

If a pattern or stitch is new to you, working the pattern with a worsted weight yarn first can really help. I don't so I'm confident with the pattern/stitches/whatever and the biggest barrier is working with the yarn. Do it enough times and the darker yarns are much easier to deal with too.

I did watch your tutorials but never had a problem with it I did change to an ommi hook which made it a dream cant get enough of the stuff. Tried other velvet no comparison. Not tried velvet baby yet. Will be trying the velvet with amagarumi just to see ❤

I can’t seem to crochet in a straight line…I’ll keep trying- but I started crocheting in the round- and I don’t understand why it’s did hard for me to keep the correct number of stitches! Great video! I’m using bernat velvet for my temperature blanket this year and I did run into some worming with my starting chain. I don’t know how to do the sc starting chain but that might have been helpful. I plan on making a border around it so it should be fine 😅

I have! While I haven't dedicated the time to really get used to it, I definitely recognized how beneficial it can be!! For me, I've made the same patterns so many times in a row that I would, in a way, have to somewhat relearn making it with a tension ring, so I haven't committed as much time to trying one as I'd like to!

I have your velvet beanie pattern and also have a bunch of baby velvet. Is there any chance you could let us know how to adapt the pattern for the thinner yarn?

I use the baby velvet with a size h hook and follow the pattern and get a great result. The brim just happens to be a bit smaller and has a slightly snugger feel. But it honestly helped with warmth.

@@sarah-sillz you would want to measure the foundation chains (height) to match the dimensions in the pattern. Then add the number of crochets you would need to achieve said height. To get the right length or Circumference you would add rows until you reach the desired size.
